Fed up of this carry on .Are we running a crèche or a football club. They don't seem to realise we are in with the big boys now messing around with children will get us no where.Dont they consider we' ve suffered enough over the last 16 years to risk going straight back. We could be playing catch up after the first few games.

The Donn... being serious here, no WUM'ing at all.
you're one of those 'the grass is always greener'... if we signed a player to replace KP, for 30 million you'd be happy, you're fforgetting that KP's improvement is prob worth a lot more than 30 million (potentially).
why would you go out and burn money on replacements that might not be fit for purpose?
why would you replace a squad that has been playing together for two years (some more) under the same manager, who are champions.. look at the improvement already, due to consistancy of the squad, the potential of another season together, who knows how much further they'll have improved in a years time.
we need to strengthen in some areas, I'm not saying otherwise, but lets not fall into the trap of spending a fortune on players that might not fit the bill, simply to say 'we've spent money'.
we have to be sensible - the right players at the right time and price - anything other than that is madness and frankly reckless.
give your head a shake Donn

We need some seasoned professionals to keep us in the premiership. Those youngsters won't be ready for years.

Why does it have to be either or? We can sign proven players AND young prospects at the same time.
Deals for young players will be easier to do in the current climate, and just generally anyway, than signing players like Ben White and Benrahma who have multiple clubs interested in them and whose clubs don't want to sell.

Drameh is fine
Geldhart is fine
But the 17 yo keeper and the Linfield ones are baffling. We have 6 or 7 youth keepers already, yet we signed another, why cant we have that many senior CM's or CB's? We have just Cooper. Need 5 senior signings in 4 weeks, going to be a busy month

"Those youngsters won't be ready for years."
Surely if any manacoach gives a youngster a go then he thinks they're ready!..
Milner started for us when he was 16 in the then 1st Division, known today as the Premiership!..
Its good some in the know know what to do and when!..
A few youngsters played a part in our promotion push!..

Am I making Milner out older then he actually is!.

I do agree that of the senior signings to come in ideally you'd want the centre back/s(and I hope it is in the plural)in first as, if it is not White, then that's the areas we don't have continuity from last season and need to get them in, ready to play 'our way' as soon as we can.
Quite exposed to injury/suspension at centre back. You always want to focus on quality over quantity, but you cannot be put in a position where you have 0 to 1 fit senior natural position centre backs in the premiership.
I could live with waiting to get the more attacking additions in a week or so if we get centre back sorted and covered.
Not doubting at all that the club are working quietly on these but would be a bit concerned if they were only looking at 1 centre back and no more. small tight knit squads with youngsters stepping in is a noble aim but doesn't feel like a in this league you'd want to be carrying over a season and potentially undoing good work elsewhere.

Rob - agree - just something else to throw out there.. Trent and Gomez for Liverpool only very young, Klopp but massive faith in those players and they delivered.. robertson, a young gun from Hull signed to cover Moreno raised eye brows, not the best LB in the country.
young players under a manager like Bielsa can reach for the stars if they work hard enough.

What's baffling about the Linfield one? Charlie Allen?
The keepers we have Meziak who is 23 and clearly not rated highly and Will Huffer who is 21 so older than Meslier. Neither of them have long term futures at the club and were kept as cover/U23s. Aren't they both out of contract now anyway as they signed 1 year deals last summer I think.
So that leaves Caprile and this new Ajax keeper as youth ones.

Don't think Miazek is out of contract as I keep seeing him linked with loan moves to Huddersfield.

Good point. Just looking at the squad training I think Casey and Cresswell are training with first team squad. Therefore if we can get White or an equivalent in at centre back and Bielsa thinks he can get these lads up to the standard in the background to step in when needed, free up money to spend elsewhere then I can see why he would want just 1 centre back coming in.
If Bielsa thinks they could be good enough to do that fair enough.
