All time Champions League XI

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53786655

Hard not to go with predominantly Barca and Real players but here is my XI

Casillas
Alves Pique Ramos Maldini
Xavi Iniesta Zidane
C.Ronaldo Messi Lewandowski

Buffon never won it so just edged out. Puyol edged out by Pique. No place for Figo on Pirlo in that midfield. Del Piero edged out by Lewandowski.

Pique should be nowhere near plus the OP team needs some midfield steel.

Ah you much prefer a good old bit of Scottish "dig"
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Just think it’s a list of very good players rather than necessarily the best team?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Barca got by alright without dig

I have
Neuer
Alves...Nesta...Maldini ...Carlos
Iniesta...xavi...zz
Ronaldo..Raul ...messi

It's interesting that there are no PL players in these teams. Apart from Ronaldo who is there because of his time at Real Madrid. Is this suggesting that if you want to be remembered as a footballing great, don't go to an English club?

Barca and the Real Galcticos did well in that regard. However, these teams don't last long without a core to the team

Aye, Busquets and Mascherano would never take one for the team

Pique is the quiet David Luiz.

Capable of horror shows all to often.
