Barcelona. Not sure what he has done to deserve it, but it seems he was always the number one pick, and it didn`t take Barca long to make a very quick decision on their new manager.
I suspect he may only last a year tops, Barca need a complete overall of their playing squad. They have fallen a long, long way from a decade back when they had a peak Messi, Xavi and Iniesta, so cannot see Koeman being the answer long term.
Whose next for the chop from the so called big clubs?

You could argue the same about Ole being appointed United manager?
What qualifications does Ole have?

He has a half norwegian half manchester accent and he scored in a CL final for them
That's it. That's actually it

There is a trend going around Europe for clubs to be signing significant former players as managers

I'm not at all shocked by the difficulty Poch is having getting a club of the stature he would want.
Apart from our freakish cl run which was ruined by our performance in the final the results during his last 12 months in charge were dreadful.

I’d say last 6 months, given we didn’t play and games between mid May and August 2019 (CL final aside) and it first started going pear shaped in late Feb 2019

If my memory serves me right when Jose won at West Ham in his opening game wasn't that our first win on the road (in the Prem) for 11 months?

Yeah
But we played three home matches in a row in January, so Burnley away in late February was our first away match since late January at Fulham, which we won

Spot on mate. Poch was a decent manager, but was vastly overrated by lots on here. When he was sacked loads on the board were saying he will be chased after by every top club in Europe, and will get the pick of them. I of course sensibly said they were talking complete nonsense, and then I get accused of disrepecting our previous manager.
I was, and still am being just realistic about how good Pochettino really is. I still maintain that the Spurs job is as good as it will ever get for him. And thus far with big jobs coming and going and he not getting a look in seems to be proving me right.
Of course the Poch fanboys on here will disagree, but we will see who is right in a year or two and see where Poch ends up, and if he is able to win anything.

I really don’t get their fixation with Xavi either. Just because he was the heartbeat of Pep’s Barça and the great Spain sides doesn’t mean he is going to be a good manager. It’s just pure wishful thinking at this stage.
I am hugely surprised Ten Hag hasn’t been linked tbh. He got Ajax playing great football, and Barça always have an eye on what Ajax are up to.
Bartomeu really is the most staggeringly incompetent president Barça have had, and Gaspart really takes some beating.
