They were charged with misconduct, how is being convicted of a crime not misconduct or bringing the game into disrepute.

We’d need read the FA rules more closely to find out I suppose.

Were you asking that question when Lloris was convicted of drink driving?

Does nt look like it was fair trial

United will have been fining him regardless before all this court stuff just for hanging out and socializing prior to pre season training. Now they will have no choice but to ban him.

Joey Barton was convicted of assault and subsequently charged with violent conduct by the FA, he received a 12 game ban (6 of them suspended) after pleading guilty.

that was for assaulting a fellow player on the training ground. he received no FA ban when he served 6 months in jail for assault unrelated to football (see also lee bowyer, woodgate, marcos alonso etc)
