A bit dramatic, but considering:
- The currrent dire financial situations within La Liga
- Star players leaving Neymar/Ronaldo + *Messi/*Suarez
- La Masia on a strong downard trajectory
- The enormous financial power of the Premier League
- The huge tax breaks now in place for players within Italy
- The financial power of state backed clubs across Erope (e.g. PSG)
Can we expect a bit of a tough 5-10 years for LaLiga to come? Aside from the above, the impact Messi/Ronaldo has had on that league is monumental
The 'end ' of La Liga

They still have more pulling power than any prem team. Will take a while for that to fade. Madrid are the richest club in the world, but I don’t see either team really winning the cl any time soon.

Still think Real Madrid are good value to still be up there. They have a wealth of young talent who could potentially develop into a great team

They will not be at the top end for a few years I don’t think, it may well be prem teams, Bayern and PSG’s time to shine. I can’t see them turning it round that quickly .

Bayern have a great squad.
I could see them winning another couple of Champs Leagues within the next 3 or 4 years.

It’s not that long ago Madrid did the CL-Liga double and looking at their squad a lot of people were saying they were set to dominate for a few years. A few months later it was all starting to fall apart. A year later, Ronaldo walked and Bale spat his dummy, and they’ve been struggling to find a way back for two seasons. Funny thing is, they had actually started to plan their transition in advance, but the suddenness of the collapse caught the club off-guard with the new generation still way too green.
Not long before that Madrid double, it was Barça who’d recently landed a treble and were said to have an unbeatable model with their academy system a factory line of top talent (oblivious to the fact that even by then the pipeline was already looking exhausted).
There’s a tendency to take a snapshot of a club or look at recent successes and think they’re a fair reflection of their overall situation for years to come.
Likewise, the general opinion was that Bayern would struggle massively to replace Robben and Ribery, and how long has it taken them to win the treble themselves? However, there’s no knowing what might happen if they fail to replace Lewa adequately, can’t find a character quite like Müller or lose any other of their key figures; or what fortunes might befall PSG if they lose Mbappé, or Neymar, or even Verratti.
Madrid and Barcelona look way off competing right now, and it could take them years to strike upon a winning formula again, but things can and often do turn around very quickly in football.

If there’s one thing, Madrid and Barca will dominate time and time again. In fact it’s only when both of them are in transitional periods, it’s when other clubs in Europe have a chance to win the CL. Barca maybe in a mess, but they’ll turn it around. Madrid May suffer in Europe for a season or two, but again they’ll turn it around as well.

That’s largely been the case for a couple of decades, but for a similar spell before then, everyone else depended on the Italian entrants having a bad season or otherwise pulling off a shock win against them.
Before then it was Bayern and Liverpool for a fair spell.
You’d need to go all the way back to the dawn of European competitions to find Madrid dominating.
The biggest difference nowadays is how much the competition format and financial setup tend to favour the élites, but it’s close enough at the top for other clubs and leagues to experience dominant cycles of their own.
In fact, given its financial advantage, the PL would have been more dominant in recent years than it has been but for a handful of continental mega clubs as for its own profligate spending.

it is easy to forget that 15 years ago Barca had only won one European Cup/Champions League and were 13 or14 La Liga titles behind Real.
