Messi & Pep

If,as is looking increasingly more likely,Messi follows his boyhood hero Dennis Tueart to play for Man City,I would think we must also be getting Pep for an extended period to match Messi’s contract length which I would think would be 3 years

Not been a good couple of months for the hateful 8 has it ?🤣

Anyone who says Messi is past it or won’t improve City is clueless. Messi could go to any of the big 6 and make 4 of them title challengers and the other two he could end up with the treble or quadruple.

Hahaha nothing more clueless than that

City already score goals for fun and Messi is waaaaay past his best. He’s been on a steady decline since 2011. He’s still obviously one of the best players in the world but it’s not like City need him or anything. Purely a luxury signing if it happens
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agreed, apart from the bit about the decline since 2011.

If messi joins i expect yous to romp the league. If he does join though, who misses out? Surely messi aguero sterling and bernardo cant all play at the same time? Would sterling or bernardo feel aggrieved if they started to find themselves on the bench more frequently?

I don't think he would make as much difference as some people think.

City are guaranteed a minimum 46 matches next season, game time for all there

Very odd goings on with Bartomeu and his management. Is Messi really being fined for his absence from the COVID tests and training? How would that work if his transfer request stated that he wishes to leave with “immediate effect”?

I do understand that, its a squad game etc however we are talking about top top players here who will ultimately not be 1st choice anymore potentially. How far down the pecking order to players like mahrez and jesus now fall?

Its very similar to us being linked with thiago. We dont really need thiago, its probably the most well stocked area of the pitch we have however if he come in i will be over the moon as hes superb.

I see this as similar. Yous dont really need him in my opinion, though to have him would be sensational.

That’ll be why he won the ballon d’or in 2011, 2012, 2015, and 2019 then.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well either you can’t read or you don’t know what decline means. He’s still even now one of the best players in the world but he was undoubtedly the best back in 2011 and has never reached the heights he set back then

Messi loves Barcelona. They gave him everything. He will not be joining Man City or any other club.

No idea how the sums will work if clubs have half a season or more with empty stadia but signing Pep for a longer contract gets my vote. Messi is still a fantastic player but I think he will stay in Barca, although if he came, just wow.

I think Messi will be a City player this season
