Arsenal To Reopen Stadium To Fans

https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/arsenal-fc-news-fans-coronavirus-22616941

In October.

Season ticket holders chosen by ballot.

I presume Spurs and other clubs will follow suit and do something similar, They have to try something!

Thoughts?

Never said it was AFC. just that it isn't as simple and easy as a school or work place. It's not just as easy as you're thinking. The entire design of a stadium is centred around moving vast numbers of people in out and around quickly, at the same time. Using communal areas along the way as junctions and filtration points.

The social distancing, no large communal gathering, clean everything between individual use, nature of Covid measures. Means that at most every point, stadiums will have to be operating by doing the exact opposite of what they were specifically designed for. Doing it safely, without pre kick off, halftime and post game each taking 2-3 hours. Isn't as simple as getting a few extra cleaners and telling people to wear masks. It can be done with cracking planning but it's hard because a football match has a time factor that puts a proper spanner in the works.

Just to clarify what Arsenal are doing, and I presume most will.
Season ticket holders have to register to be in the ballot, they can choose not to get tickets at all.
And they don't have to pay for the season ticket renewal until the stadium is back to full capacity, be that some time this season or next.
Attendees will also need to take photo ID to match the name on the ticket.

And when a vaccine comes...........
1. will you trust it not to kill you?
2. Will you trust it to work?
3. When do you think you would be able to get it, if you want it....how far down the list will you be?

1. Depends how long it takes them to come up with it. Anything less than 3-5 years and it's a no from me.

2. Yes but whether it does so effectively and without killing or damaging people or their unborn children is a whole 'nother story.

3. I don't care because I'll be one of the last people to take it whatever happens. Cowboy rush job and vaccine does not a good combination make. So I'll let the naive, scared and desperate take it first. If/ when they don't get messed up, die or start having deformed kids...then I'll consider it safe to take

All very good points!
But here's the question 4:
Would you rather catch Covid-19 or take the vaccine that arrives, say December 2020?

I'm healthy with a very strong immune system these days. So I'm picking the bug over the rushed vaccine any day of the week. There are still millions of us who can remember the headache (if I remember rightly) tablet that caused babies to be born with no arms and legs, when pregnant women took it.

The long-term side effect data is CRITICALLY important to any and every new drug. Rolling out a drug, on mass whilst you don't have any. Is nothing short of FECKING IDIOTIC! It's potentially just as devastating as the Covid-19 itself. Maybe even worse because a vaccine can end up programming the body to turn on/kill itself..

If you don't already know, take a look at what can and has happened, when you don't get adequate data on the potential long term effects of a drug, before giving it to millions of people. Took 'em 5 years to figure out what they'd done.
