Has there ever been a player that has become so much more highly rated since retirement.
He’s treated by some fans as some sort of legend but in reality he was generally average at best.
He was great to watch at his very best but his best was seen far too rarely.
Had a decent spell at the start of the 10/11 season but even then he was benched well before the end of that season.
Why has Berbatov gained such a reputation as some sort of hero by some of our fans?

Definitely a double-plus player for United.
Nightmare to play against.
Bit annoying to the 'get stuck in der' grunts, but with the quality, integrity and intelligence of the players around him at the time he was a luxury to watch.
