Spurs Want to host Test Event with 31K Fans

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/sep/03/tottenham-hope-to-host-test-event-in-front-of-31000-supporters

Sounds optimistic but a positive forward step given the comments from Arsenal yesterday and test events in the lower leagues next week (Cambridge I think)

Fingers Crossed

Its madness, shouldn't be allowed at all.

Thousands of fans on public transport, around the stadium, alcohol involved, there is no way this is a responsible project. It is just greed.

Didn't your government re open pubs and encourage people to go back to work. Didn't see too many people that worried this summer when you had nice weather packing onto beaches and boozing at the first opportunity.

People seem to be OK traveling across Europe for their annual 2 weeks in the sun but cant sit outside with a mask on a watch a game of footy ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You do realise you just made my point, right? People in Holland were breaking the rules, and government had to address the matter. People are selfish caants, no one needs to be on a beach, in a pub. It shouldnt be a fecking problem to lay low for a year until we have this sorted. Not being on the beach is not going to harm anyone.

You can't just hide and wrap yourself in cotton wool..... The world has to go on. Sadly people will die, we all know the issues with underlying conditions and the world's ability to understand and treat the virus is improving everyday. The vast majority of people will recover fine. Sensible social distancing will reduce the spread & those at extra risk need to take additional measures..... It really isn't that hard.

Personally I have chosen not to travel this summer but outside of that my life hasn't changed in anyway..... I would have no issue attending an outdoor sporting event. I would simply be more thoughtful about my travel plans for getting there.

From a distance, it seems the biggest issue in the UK appears to be too many people listening to mixed messages from the Govt and not enough common sense

50% seems a bit ambitious at this stage.

Surely you have to start small and assess the impact?

25% seems more reasonable. The public transport and the concourses are the areas of concern. Once in your seat and watching the risk should be fairly low.

Sounds way too many for a test event, with the transport situation around WHL as it is would have thought half of that more realistic

Maybe..... But theres an urgency to this.,...sadly money is involved. The objective is to get large numbers of people into a football stadium..... I think we all know putting 10-15K people into a 60K stadium achieves nothing (Nothing is gonna happen to anyone (if everyone is sensible). You are probably more at risk walking down the street or shopping in Tesco, which u have all been doing for months

Should we qualify for the Europa group stage then those 3 home games would be ideal.

No need to worry about thousands missing out as we'd be lucky to get 25k under normal circumstances.

There's far more chance of catching the virus when on a crowded train than walking to the shops...

I'm not against fans going back, but it has to be done by gradually increasing capacity not starting with half capacity and seeing what happens.

Even 25% capacity is a big revenue increase for clubs (especially at the prices levy is charging

Odd comment. You’d basically enforce a full lockdown into people’s own homes for a year for literally no reason. Wonder why no country in the world is doing that. Actually I do, it lacks basic common sense.

I didnt say full lock down, but sitting packed on a beach or in a train carriage is something to reconsider. Feck sake, its either black or white with you lot, isnt it? Never gray.
