Messi Is A Coward

All he wants in life is for things to be easy for him. Putting aside the most recent developments for a moment, why on earth would he go to City? We're talking about the best player of all time, capable of changing the course of any club in world football. He has, at club level, won all there is to win, several times. He's played alongside the likes of Henry, Ronaldinho, David Villa, Neymar, Suarez and Griezmann. He has broken more records than one could even begin to list. Why on earth would he go somewhere like City, where he'd only make a minor difference in a position they have already filled?

Simple. Because daddy Pep is there and he'll have it easy. Won't have to play every game if he doesn't want to. Won't have to adapt his game to a new challenge. Won't have to fight to ensure a top-end finish. Nada.

This is a man in no danger of doing a Maradonna and writing his legend at Napoli. If he were, he'd be looking at the likes of Inter, Atlanta, Arsenal, Man U, Wolves or Dortmund. He just wants an easy ride.

And the latest developments confirm this. He was happy to stay at Barca his entire career, as long as they made it easy for him. It is no longer easy, so he wants to leave. Oh but now it'll be hard to leave, so he'll stay. He may be the best player of all time, but football is about those intangibles. Messi has won everything there is to win, in club football, but isn't a winner. Not like Ronaldo is. Perhaps that's why Ronaldo could inspire a Euros win but Messi couldn't win the World Cup, even with the talent at Argentina's disposal.

He may be the best technical player of all time, but he's not the best footballer and this summer has shown exactly why.

Messi is 33, he obviously believes he will win nothing else at Barca.

How many clubs can afford him? City, Utd, maybe PSG? He has limited destinations.

Atalanta obvs

Wolves too

Must have sold Doherty to us to raise money for the imminent Messi bid

I agree with the article overall.

Ronaldo is certainly more of a champion than Messi.

He's certainly more of a something that begins with the letter C but there's only another 3 letters after not 6

Going to clubs like Wolves or Atalanta is a stretch. But after pocketing €1m a week for Barca, at what stage does he have enough money to set him and his grandchildren’s grandchildren for life?

OP is right about him running off to daddy Pep but without a fat wallet, even daddy Pep wouldn’t be a big enough lure for Messi to leave his comfort zone
