A week away, but still a lot of doubt over who will start.
Emi Martinez vs Bernd Leno is the first big choice. The latter is away with the German national side, and Emi was picked for the Community Shield. For these reasons I am going with the Argentinian.
Mikel Arteta has used 3-4-3 recently, so I am assuming he will stick with that.
David Luiz will start in the middle. I think Kieran Tierney will continue as LCB, as long as he comes back from international duty in a fit state.
The third place is less clear. Rob Holding played the shield, and despite strong rumours is still at the club. The other two options are the new boys: William Saliba and Gabriel. Saliba is more suited to RCB, and has been in training for longer. Gabriel has had to quarantine and obviously behind in preperation. Not seeing the pre-season matches makes it hard to know really. I'm going for Saliba
WIng backs have to be Bellerin (despite linked away) and AMN, don't they?
Dani Ceballos is back and hopefully ready to start. Granit Xhaka is away with Switzerland, so we have to hope he comes back in condition to play. Mohamed Elneny is on stand-by if either miss out, while Joe Willock seems the only other alternative.
Our captain, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, will be playing if fit. The question, then, is who joins him in the front 3? Nicolas Pepe, Alexandre Lacazette and Willian missed the Community Shield, but will have been involved a lot this week. The youngsters, Bukayo Saka, Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah, are on Under 21 duty which may affect their chances of a start.
I am going with:
----------------Emi------------------------
-----Saliba----Luiz---Tierney---------
Bellerin--Ceballos--Xhaka---AMN
---Willian-----------Aubameyang----
--------------Lacazette-----------------
Subs: Leno, Cedric, Gabriel, Saka, Willock, Nelson, Nketiah
What you think? Both new boys in the back line? A change in formation? Auba as main striker? Let me know in the comments section below.
Team vs Fulham.

There's 5 years worth of footballing reasons to have dropped Ozil. It's never been more fitting in football history.
So whether he was dropped for those reasons or not is irrelevant, said reasons are still there. Only now (as he's been dropped) they've become 5 years of reasons why he must never play a game of any meaning, for Arsenal ever again.
Plus it's a big fat slap in the face to rest of the team that's bust it's ass whilst he's been out and had something to show for it, because he wasn't there to feck it up just like he has the last few seasons.

Normally the team that starts the Community shield starts the first match as long as there are no sales/loans. But because its a longer delay than normal and with possibility of Holding/Elneny going out loan we may see Saliba/Ceballos. Possibly Pepe will come in for Saka but that depend on fitness after U21 game.
It will interesting to see if Arteta decides on a formation change against Fulham or if that is a longer term strategy.

I hope we stick with a back 3 tbh. We don’t have the defenders to play with a back 4

Expect to have 100 shots and not score against Van Der Sar. Even if we do win, eventually people on this board will find something negative to say about something so what’s the point? Let’s forget this season guys, and probably the next, let’s concentrate on players being fit for the 2022/23 season and get ahead of the game.

inclined to agree. In fact let's just put all the players in bubble wrap and deep freeze them until 2030 and then hit the ground running. Greenwood, Sancho and the rest will be well old by then so we'd run rings round them. The norfen slaags

It's the twitter troll, Ozil fanboy buttwads like yourself who need the slap, plus a couple of kicks to the head. You clowns are responsible for the club shelling out 91 million quid for feck all but handicapping the team for 5 years. He never would have been offered that bloody contract if not for you stupid, blind s harping and whining how great he was. HE WASN'T AND ISN'T! The team and club have paid a heavy damned price for you sucker's obsession with youtube highlight clips.
