Rebecca Quinn has come out and said she is transgender. Born male, now female. Playing for a female football team.
I am torn about this. It is unfair advantage that she has all strengths and endurance from a male body, but plays for a women team.
But I also support the fact that she as a woman now has all rights to play women sports.
Thoughts?

I am sure all those years ago when she made the decision to become female it wasn't because she wanted a physical advantage while playing in the women's game or all those other benefits that come with it.
But at the same time the advantage exists. So do we just ignore the advanage for the sake of PC? What if there is a team of solely transwomen how would you feel as they destroy every women's team?

A player the stature of Dan James is expected to compete against players the stature of Maguire / VVD. I therefore dont see how 1 male to female makes THAT big a difference in football.

Yes, there is a disparity between Dan James and VVD as an example but small in relative terms. Now Imagine VVD went into women's football. Does the disparity grow and does it become way too large that it becomes unfair? I'd say the answer to both those questions is yes.

My point is that there are disparities between size and strength across most sports. Fellaini, Lukaku, Hulk, Maguires size doesnt give them huge advantages.

I know that's your point, that's what I replied to. My reply was that there is a small disparity in relative terms but potentially a massive and extremely unfair disparity if transgenders play in the female game.
Also generally smaller players in the male game make up for their size difference through other means like pace, however males are normally quicker than females, again in relative terms and therefore this 'advantage' against the massive disadvantage is reduced.

People supporting a transgender female (male to female) into sports are just being complete fools and THINK they are doing the right thing supporting that.
It has happen on several occasions where a man has competed as a woman and all its done is reduce the opportunities for women to get scholarships, support and having their records broken.
Complete joke.
