Salah

That's a quick answer for people doubting him especially the media, the pundits and even some of Liverpool fans.

He could have had a couple of assists and more goals if the poor Firmino knew how to kick the ball again and Mane knew when to shoot or pass.

Salah was unfairly not listed in team of the year and in the running for player of the year. May be not the best but still better than Sterling.

I feel the reason being is because of where he comes from.

Unlike last season, I've noticed yesterday he's always looking for the pass to his team mate when the teammate was in a better position to score. That's a sign of a man being calm, confident and with a mission. I think he's a mission to prove doubters wrong but with a calmer approach than last year when his first target was to score and get the golden boot

Stats are two dimensional without perspective.
Bruno scored lots of goals compared to Liverpools midfield but it isn't their role and Bruno has far more attacking freedom than any Liverpool midfielder.

It's like comparing man uniteds midfield to trent and robertson for assists, it's going to look a bit strange but that doesn't mean man u have a trash midfield.

Pogba got 3 Pl assists all season....Daniel James was 2nd on the list and penandes was top with 7.

Trent 4 goals 13 assists in the Prem.

Penandes 4 goals (without pens) and 7 assists.

Extrapolated over 38 games, Bruno would have scored 10 goals without pens the whole season, which is actually good enough IMO, but nothing to cream your pants over.

It’s almost as much as your midfield scored, which was my point.

Again, I’m not trying to big up the United midfield, I was just pointing out that Liverpool’s isn’t creative or potent. Again, I know that isn’t the job of the unit.

The question was; without Salah and Mane where do Liverpool’s goals come from. I don’t think the answer is Minamino and Origi.

Fernandes plays pretty much in a 10 not really comparable with any of our midfield. I'd wager his touch map would be pretty similar to Bobby in a lot of games.

Fair point, and I agree 100% as it happens.

But it doesn’t help deal with the problem in question, which is where your goals come from if both Mane and Salah are unavailable.

We’d play minamino and origi, with Brewster backing up.

Not at all the same potency, if they were both out for long periods of time at the same time it would be detrimental for sure.
Two of the best players in the world, we would have to adapt our style for sure and I’m sure Klopp has a plan for that eventuality to change our game plan.

But excluding bruno, who is an attacking midfielder, man United midfield lacks creativity and goals. Without pens Bruno got the same amount of goals in the pl as ox.
I don't know the full stats but ox doesn't play too many games.

Not even city can afford to lose their two best attackers, aguero and jesus. There'd be a big difference.

I think it's fairer to compare bruno to Salah/mane/firminio when u look at their roles and position.

I like greenwood but would he carry united attack if martial and rashford were out for a long period? No. United would be worse.

Yeah, that was the point I was trying to make over the last 50 posts or so!

They’re both world class players. Those (immediately) around them and their replacements aren’t in the same league.

I’m glad someone finally understands it

Him and Mane are world class, period.

Replace those two with average PL-level wide forwards and despite Klopp’s talents, you’re scrapping for a top four spot.

Massively important players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course.

Take KDB sand Sterling out of City and i think they’d struggle a lot more than some people think. It’s the case with everyone
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Take KDB and Sterling out and they’d still have Bernardo, Mahrez, Aguero, Jesus, Torres and Foden available to their forward line. There’s a ton of creativity and goalscoring ability there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Like i said, i think they’d struggle a lot more than some people realise.

Not least because Aguero is always full of niggles, Jesus is average, Torres we haven’t even seen in the league yet, and foden will play deeper imo.

They’re deeper than we are, but i don’t think they’re quite as strong as some make out
