At what point do we start saying that Castagne is better than Chilwell

A good start, wasn't expecting that. Shaky first 20 minutes but we controlled it from then on and won easily. Think we needed that to put a line under last season's disaster and not let it impact on this season.
Castagne looks quality, him and Ricardo down the right could be an explosive partnership. JJ looks much better on the left than on the right. Mendy put in a good showing, he really does the simple things well. Ndidi was surprisingly good at CB. Praet's best game since Newcastle at the KP last season. Barnes is so frustrating some times, his all around play is excellent but his final product is so erratic, almost Demarai standard.
West Brom were so poor though, they are Championship standard. Feeling a lot better about my bet on them finishing bottom.
Now let's get some signings in and push on.

He's already better. He can actually pass a football.

Barnes has no finesse in his finishing, constantly wants to break the back of the net. He really needs a finishing coach, maybe along the lines of what Vardy had with Kevin Phillips. He needs different finishes in his arsenal than just hitting it, knowing he needs to beat the keeper and not the net.

Reminds me of Sterling Dunge. He still has some wayward efforts but has clearly worked on his finishing.
We need whoever worked with him!

There's a saying that is meant for tennis but it could be equally applied, when changed a little, to Barnes. 'The art of shooting is control and restraint, and kicking the ball where the goalie aint."

Just listened to Rodgers interview in full after the game. Was very pleasing to hear him say the following (paraphrased obviously:
- we were surprised by them playing a back 5 and took a while to adjust
- still, we were too slow in the pass first half
- we weren’t pressing their key midfielder to relieve pressure on their out ball
- we talked about this at half time and executed the changes
- it worked
I find that very pleasing because it’s Rodgers clearly seeing the same problems we did, but being able to fix them at half time and without personnel changes.
Good that we’ve picked off a team willing to defend against us as we struggled at that last season from Christmas. Now to step it on.
My other question is:
When Pereira is back, will Castagne move to the left or will Brendan go crazy and try and fit them both on the right? Can Pereira be the answer to our winger issues ahead of Castagne with Fuchs and Justin overlong the other side?
I think we all want to see a Pereira Castagne full back situation but interested to see if others think it will happen?
