15 thousands complaints on OfCom already. Is it justified or this country has just gone mad over a dance act?
Personally, I don't support the BLM during the lockdown, simply because it risked other people's lives. However, it's perfectly reasonable for Diversity to deliver this message in their dance routine.
I stopped watching BGT long time ago btw.

I wish people would stop saying it's the older generation that's racist. It is important not to generalise like that. I am a young person and I am racist. Show us younger generation a bit more respect.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I know you're making a joke, but yeah, there are young racists around.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I became racist about a month and a half ago.
When I celebrated my 65th birthday with a spanking new white hood.

the old one had some good years I'm sure

Was getting a bit threadbear. .

Love how these movements think you can teach people not to be racist when in fact they are just creating a wider divide than we have seen in decades.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If being against racism is creating a divide then there is a right and wrong side to be on in that divide.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Whether you like it or not a lot of what folks call 'racism' is generational. My mother would be classed a racist, she is 80 plus and has probably never even spoken to a black person in her life. But just like now with the Eastern Europeans everyone complains about she saw and heard about the first wave of immigrants going to the UK way back when.
On top of that these movements, rightly or wrongly are associated with rioting and destruction and it is no surprise many turn their back on these groups when that is what they see. I didn't hear a single voice defending the police after the first killing that triggered all of this but yet we still had to see neighbourhood after neighbourhood set ablaze and it is no surprise people then condemn these movements. Nothing to do with being racist at all.
The most ironic thing of all though is that black lives matter is an extremely isolating movement that does the cause no good whatsoever.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Opinion or FACT.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
More like a lack of knowledge.
America's history is absolutely riddled with race protests. Until a few decades ago it was white people protesting in thousands and thousands of numbers. If a black family moved into a white neighbourhood, this would often lead to mass violent protests, they'd get evicted and their stuff thrown out in the street if lucky. If not they'd suffer arson attacks or someone would get lynched while the police provide security for this to happen.
Perceived black criminals would be pulled out of police cells by humongous crowds and killed by mobs one by one, the next victim was made to watch as his mate was flipped like a pancake by a crowd of irate, mostly drunk white men.
You say racism ia generational, well, maybe protests and rioting is also generational, no? Maybe that's how you persue your race rights in the USA. Modern protests are far more peaceful in comparison anyway and this reflects the more advanced generation.

Depends on perception or knowedge of history. How much of a divide do you think has existed in the past few decades? It's subjective. You could argue it's been huge or that its been tiny and be successful either way depending on what period you compare it to.
I guess it depends on the point one is trying to make. Historically, similar movements have done a lot to teach people not to be racist, contrary to what you might believe. They've experienced great success and even helped to defeat terrorist ideologies, factions and supremacists. Personally I don't see why this one will be different.

I'm not arguing the generational bs.
I'm an old can't so can't agree with that.
FFS Bernie is nearly 80 and signed up black voters in the 60s.
There are a good amount if lads in their 20s on this board who if they are not racist are just not interested in anyone else's viewpoint as they are not affected by it but may feel some kind of guilt and lash out.
Think I lost my train of thought there.
