This formation would suit us best for sure but Jose would never play it

Importantly it would help Son a lot too. Less time out wide and more time nearer the box

I think I’d go in terms of the 3CB rotations:

Dier Alder Sanchez/Davies

Toby Dier/Sanchez Davies/Tanganga

Alderweireld in the middle as the libero.

Sanchez, Dier and Tanganga as the quicker covering stoppers either side.

I know Dier isn't quick, but needs must

Mourinho is nowhere near adventurous enough to play a 3-5-2. He is so set on 4-2-3-1 regardless of the players he has available it's embarrassing.

We could play a variety of formations such is the utility of the squad but the tactics are the problem.

Lucas tucking in for knockdowns leaving the right back space to exploit

tuck in on the left making a third centre back, most notably davies who has been in disgusting form. Nice boy, quiet boy so not the focus of peoples attention been far worse than our other defenders.

Playing it long

Playing too conservatively. Winks lambasted yesterday but he is told to play safe as a defensive midfielder.

Giving up possession to then try to attack requires us to absoloutely clinical.

So boring to watch every single game, but the writing was on the wall against Watford in the friendly we could see we still had no plan b.
