Just settling down to watch the chelsea game and it got me wondering
Liverpool sold their best player in Coutinho, bought VVD, Alisson and Fabinho and went on to win a Prem Title and a Champions league
Chelsea sold Hazard and despite a years absence from the mkt look like they are gonna spend approx 250mln transforming themselves into wat looks like contenders or at worst favs for Top 4 and major honors
Having watched that utter dross yesterday and basically Spurs in general for the past 18 months just wondering if despite the pain, is selling Kane sooner rather than later the best thing to do ? We know he his ambitions and there's no way he can fulfill them at Spurs. Is there really any point surrounding our one world class players with a bang average supporting cast?
I know we all got in a huff when Pep called us the "Harry Kane" team but he's 100% right... it's impacted everything about our club, our way of playing, squad development, recruitment, pay structure and got us absolutely nowhere
I guess we'll see with chelsea where spending money gets you but i think we all know the answer
I'm sure if we sold Kane to City Jose would probably walk and that's not necessarily a bad thing.... There's a huge rebuild due at Spurs, perhaps it just better we get on with it now and save ourselves the pain of waiting for the inevitable
I Dunno.... just fear at some point soon even Kane will get facked off at Spurs and putting up with Levy's BS.... that's simply another headache we could do without... He looks facking miserable at Spurs and i don't see any reason how that's gonna change anytime soon
Thoughts ?
Selling your best player

He's lucky to get one, maybe two chances a match at Spurs. With City, he'd be getting 4 or 5.

He also wouldn’t be run into the ground.

End of the season Kane will ask to go in my opinion, he won`t win silverware at Spurs under owners without real ambition.

yep.... i fear you're right, sadly i won't blame him and i hope he goes on to win the trophies he craves. I hope somewhere down the line Levy will look back and realize he failed one of the greatest players the club ever had.... All those goals, all for nothing

I yearn for the day Teflon Dan, Uncle Joe and ENIC fack off out of Spurs and hand us over to somebody with ambition to win silverware, rather than ambition to improve the balance sheet.

He's probably stayed a year too long already to be honest. Not much point debating the merits, it's going to happen next summer either way so the real question is whether the club can spend the funds properly

Havertz looked like Chelsea worst player tonight.. Werner and the keeper not far behind.. Pretty sure that's the three highest outlays..

Well here are some.......
1. Spurs is not quite the "Harry Kane Team"......
we do have a couple of other top players......
Son is one and Ndombele is another. Lo Celso is not too bad either.
Admittedly Alderwiereld is now a little past his best, and the new boys Doherty and Hojbjerg did not impress..... so adding it all up, I have to admit it is close to the HKT.
2. Kane may ask to leave anyway. He's pushing 27 and has never won any trophy - am I right?
3. If we did sell Kane would you trust Levy to transform the squad with the proceeds?
I wouldn't. What Liverpool did with the procees from Coutinho would probably not happen here. Instead Levy would buy a set of underwhelming nobodies on the cheap.
3. Conclusion: Keep Harry until he asks to leave, and then let go willingly. He's more than served his time with ENIC.

If we sold Kane I wouldn’t trust us to reinvest the money wisely though ...
