what would be everybody`s best side, injuries aside.
I would go
Lloris
Doherty (Aurier if he does not move on)
Toby
Sanchez
Reguilon
Ndombele
Hojberg
Lo Celso
Bale
Kane
Son
That team should be good enough to see off Orient in the Carabou Cup.
So with Bale and Reguilon coming in

#thfc want two more signings after completing deals for Sergio Reguilón and Gareth Bale. The club continues to be in the market for a new centre-back and striker. [Evening Standard]
José Mourinho preferred #thfc centre-back target is Ruben Dias from Benfica. [Evening Standard]
Could be two more players added to the squad. Mendes helping Jose and Levy out again.

There is no such thing as a strongest team these days, you pick a team to beat the opposition on the day, horses for courses

Billy, that is why I picked that team to beat Orient.
I will have a rethink on a team to beat Liverpool.

Glad you are back to wind us up Sandy

This flimsy peace won't last...Hugs and banter will be exchanged for name calling and filtering soon I fear

I think we are one good CB and and fit and motivated NDombele and Dele away from being a very good team
Stevie & Moira are good off the bench, Winks can come into CM as needed, we have FB support and the Bale signing takes away some of the need for a senior 2nd striker. I just want a proper nasty CB and one of the current guys can play alongside him
I’d make it clear Sissoko and Lamela can leave and get Sess out on loan

I'd play a 343 with that team personally, with flexibility to play 352 to get GLC in the team selectively. Besides being allergic to back 3's in general it's what Mourinho should do knowing how he likes setting up.
- Gets Dier into the team - Jose wants this!
- Reguilon & Doherty are proven WB's
- Hojbjorg's best work at Southampton was in a 442, 343 is the easiest next step as a CM (see Kante)
- It provides all the defensive solidity necessary to give Son, Bale & Kane freedom to do whatever they want
He should've gone to a back 3 years ago, in this very aggressive climate (tactically) it's his natural evolution without changing his fundamental way of managing, but now coincidentally (or perhaps not) he's got a squad that's ready for it.
If he plays that, you might surprise a few people this year. If not, I'm willing to bet he'll be gone before the end of the season.

I can’t see any point playing 4231 when we have just signed 2 wing backs and a DM

No, like I said Davies at the back tucking in so we are 3-4-3
With Reguilon and Doherty as wing backs for crosses, which Kane would love!
Then have Ndombele Lo Celso in the middle and the front 3 of Bale Kane Son

Hojbjorg & Sissoko in the mid would be the preference, Ndombele or GLC vs. teams that park up. Part of the point of playing it would be giving that front 3 the confidence & freedom to do whatever they like (Bale needs that especially). The WB's would be the support/decoys, so the CM's need to be solid.
Davies covering Reguilon as LCB's a good idea, didn't think of that.

I am fine Hounslow, or at least better than some of our supporters who were near to suicidal last weekend. The news about Bale coming has just about saved them.

Davies plays well in that position for Wales
