on the first week of the season, what have we learnt? Not a lot really, a very disappointing first day result against Everton, and a laboured and rather lucky win midweek over Plovdiv. However it is only early doors, and still need to stay hugely positive, especially with Bale and Reguilon incoming. Looks like Jose is moulding his own team, and expect more changes over the next couple of windows, some of the previous incumbants holding down first XI places will be toast I reckon, and be moved on to new clubs during the season.
That said, I doubt any players will be moved on for the next month, Spurs have an absolutely brutal schedule, if all goes to plan, and they progress in two cup competitions, this is how it could pan out.
September
20th Southampton (a) Prem
22nd Orient (a) Carabou Cup
24th Shkendija (a) Europa
27th Newcastle (h) Prem
29th Chelsea (h) Carabou Cup
October
1st Rostov or Maccabi Haifa (h) Europa
3rd Man United (a) Prem
That`s seven games in about two weeks, if Spurs progress in the two cups. No wonder Bale says he is unfit.
The squad is going to have to be really on it. And I suspect there may even be one or two that play every one of those games. The only plus though is that in the cups, the Macedonia trip apart, Spurs have drawn Orient, which is like a home game, and then have been drawn at home in both of the cup competitions if they progress, which will mean no travelling. So we have that to be thankful for.
It is what it is though, and it is going to be a great couple of weeks of watching Spurs, and this missus is not going to be best pleased when I tell her she will not be watching much but footie for a fortnight.

OK, now that the dust has settled

End of the day Ndombele is a 23 year old French International. I'm sure whatever Jose says in the press he will have the balls to say the player's face.
TN isn't some 15 yr old kid playing Sunday league where calling him will probably not do him alot of good.
In that clip with Levy the lad himself says he is a fighter. Come on then, lets see it lad.

Casillas, Ramos, Pogba, Shaw, Martial, Ronaldo, De Bruyne. Just a list off the top of my head of players he's publicly fallen out with at his last 3 clubs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Getting de ja vue here. Jose won trophies at all three of his last clubs. The team won trophies therefore he has been proven right.

I'm not disputing that. But his feuds with all those players were mistakes which didn't pay off, both in terms of player development (none of those players came out of the feud with a massively improved attitude) or club harmony (the Real Madrid ones basically hastened Mourinho's departure from the club).
If it works with Ndombele, which it tentatively appears it has, then as I've said, well done Mourinho (and Ndombele too) and I admit I was wrong, the gambit paid off. Long way to go yet though

How exciting, you get to watch your team so many times over a short period.
As previously reported by the OP this will a great season for spurs and you should be sitting comfortably at the top of the table after ten games.
What a great time to be a spurs fan

Sandy predicted an “EPIC SEASON” for Spurs.

Even if Mourinho may be right about Ndombele, it does worry me that he calls these players out publicly so much. It's playing with fire because it could easily go the other way and turn sour and cause dressing room unrest, and we know it's been like that at previous clubs. If anything I believe he's got more cynical with old age and is more prone to doing this.
That's why I liked Poch so much, he always had a calm and classy demeanour and was never throwing any one individual under a bus.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I love Poch, but him being a nice guy and everyone’s friend, where did it get us in the end? We won nothing under him and let’s be honest here, we should of won a trophy under Poch. Maybe Mourinho coming in being a bit of a bas** just might propel this club from ultimate losers, to winners. Something had to change mate. Judging by reports, Ndombele clearly believes he needs to buckle down more. Mourinho calling him out has worked.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm sure Poch knew when to be ruthless behind the scenes. In the public eye he didn't shame anyone though. And he was getting us closer to winning stuff than we had before. Had he be continually backed we probably would have won something eventually. I think Mourinho has benefitted from good timing coming in after the stadium's been done and Levy is willing to splash a bit, by the looks of it.

Are you saying Jose is the only manager to fall out with players, every manager I should imagine has had a bust up with a player at sometime or the other. And let's be fair the modern pampered prima Donna's need an ear bashing from time to time. Far to many of them pick up mega bucks, then are on easy street most of the time. Billy Nicholson would not have put up with wasters.

Apart from Ndombele who else has he called out? He said something about Dele's brother or something but that worked at the time against West Ham and after.
At Utd he called out Pogba? That was justified.

Nobody......yet.

Only at least at Madrid he won absolutely nothing after falling out with Casillas, Ramos, Ronaldo and Pepe.
