On Monday Wolves welcome Manchester City to Molineux for what will be City’s first league game of the season.
Last season the two clubs met 3 times – twice in the league and once in the pre-season Asia Trophy final – with Wolves the victors on all 3 occasions.

On August 15th, City were beaten by Lyon in the quarter final of the Champions League, a game in which Wolves newly signed defender Fernando Marcal played.

Wolves’ league opener, an away game at Bramall Lane gave Nuno Espirito Santo the chance to hand debuts to 3 players. New signings Marcal played 90 minutes and Vitinha made an 86 minute appearance replacing Joao Moutinho. Wing back Oscar Buur Rasmussen entered the game on 68 minutes, making his Premier League debut.
Wolves won the game 2-0, the first time they have won a Premier League opener since 2011.

Manchester City have made 2 summer signings of note, Dutch international defender Nathan Ake, signed from Bournemouth and Spanish international winger Ferran Torres from Valencia.
Ake may get the chance to pit his wits against Adama Traore who was the scourge of City last season, scoring both goals in the 2-0 win at the Etihad and scoring 1 of the goals in the 3-2 win at Molineux. Traore will be no stranger to Ake of course, as the tricky winger played in both games against Bournemouth last season, games in which Wolves ran out as winners on each occasion.

The game will be shown live on Sky Sports

Italian press linking us again with Douglas Costa

Douglas Costa would be a ridiculous signing. Yet another winger though.

I'm not completely sure how genuine that Saiss twitter account is by the way.

The Semedo rumour appears to getting some legitimacy the two twitter Tims, Nash & Spiers both seem to think its on, not that that is gospel of course but neither tend to spill the beans unless their is some foundation to a story.

Wolves have laid off 10 part time scouts they were employing around Europe. I guess because Jorge has been doing their job for them

Stories on the Samedo transfer is that Barca have agreed the fee, now down to personal terms and whether the player wants to move from Barcelona to Bilston. No brainer on that, he will sign in the next day or two

So sad that a big game like tonight’s will be played behind closed doors. Molineux would have been rocking

Sadly with the latest news, it could go on for much longer.
If it does then many clubs will be in big trouble.

Yeah that's true, listening to the Covid briefing at the moment, looks increasing unlikely that we'll get back in to grounds in any numbers this season.

You could imagine some stadiums could possibly start accommodating spectators in limited numbers at some point but many, Molineux included, are problematic due to narrow enclosed stairways and concourses, Billy Wright and parts of the south bank in particular. being a problem. The lower tiers of aren't so bad, could see those being opened fairly easily but upper ones not so much.
