Gareth Bale: Then and now

Hi Tottenham fans.

I'd just like to congratulate all of you on Gareth Bale's dramatic return to the Premier League. Seeing all the Spurs fans gathering outside the training ground waiting in anticipation, long into the night, it really must have been a magnificent feeling to have their hero finally return home...

...or was it? Tbh I'm kind of baffled. All I've ever heard down the years is that Bale was finished and/or Spurs fans would never take him back.

No I think Bale is shot... He's just seems to injury prone... Wasn't great while still with us.

Unfortunately no, Bale’s salary alone rules this out.

Plus the obvious injury risk, we lose enough players to injury a it is

No interest in having bale back. Use the funds we would spend on him to bring in a top top class CM and a proper right back.

This article again.been done to death . Pleaaase no Bale!!

Bale will probably be injured like the rest of our players.
Seriously the guy is 30 this year , his pace was his asset when he was with us and it not what it used to be. Can he still do it week in week out in the hurly burly of the EPL when he struggles with injuries in the Spanish league . It will be like the Keane second coming . Never go back!!
He is on a massive wedge with no resale value. We are not Manu or Chelsea. Just way too risky .

Should we resign Sheringham and Anderton while we are at it?

How would bale help us achieve that when he spends 3/4 of a season injured?

If he can’t handle the rigours of football in a easy less physical league that has great weather then would he be able do it over here now?

Think some need to stop seeing the bale we had and see the bale he is now.

Why would anyone even consider paying 400k (2.5x Kane' wage) to spend 2/3 of the season in the treatment room.

Wake up ffs!

given his age and injuries, there is little financial sense in taking Bale, and Spurs only act with extreme financial sense.

Christ people still wanting bale

31 year old on 250k a week who had 4 injuries this season, only scored 3 goals and literally doesn't care about football

The club needs to move forwards, not backwards.
Bale is yesterday's player, and that's what's happened at Real.

No, No, No, No, No, No, No.

We already have one money grabbing Prima Donna.

He’s name is Jose Mourinho.

It's amazing how much can change in a year of football. Bale has gone from an injury prone money grabbing has been to part of the best front 3 in Europe. I thought aging, injury prone footballers usually decline with time, but what do I know 🤷‍♂️

Congratulations

Pool have had an easy start and been helped out by Oliverpool in both games, it was also a good time to play Chelsea, they were garbage with key players missing. The game was also influenced by Oliverpool when he recommended a red card to the on field referee (no chance he would have done that if it was VVD on Werner).

City are the legitimate champions and will be determined to win it again, I see them winning it if the officials decide to do their jobs properly for once.

Talk about obsessed.

If only Bats tried this hard at school he could have made something of himself, instead he's just a sadlittlegooner spending his evenings on pathetic articles like this.

I am surprised we went for Bale but where we have paid £0 fee and only 40% of his huge wages and only on loan too, so no risk to us, the financial situation is very different to how most saw a deal for Bale happening.

Regardless, your pathetic little post stated "All I've ever heard down the years is that Bale was finished and/or Spurs fans would never take him back".

You quote of mine neither said he was finished or that i wouldnt welcome him back. Just likely that it wouldnt happen foer financial reasons. Proved wrong i was but that does not make it a contradiction.

The bigger thing here is how much of your sad life you have spent trawling 606 to compile this lame WUM. Time well spent You need to get out more !

I was fully expecting someone to create this type of Bale article. The same 180 degree turn was performed by many, first on Poch and then on Mourinho. Would be interesting to have a article listing all historic comments on Mourinho. Prob do no good though.

Easy to see though why we are always regarded as a fickle bunch of supporters.... I suppose.
