Saint Pat

We all love our Patrice and I honestly miss his great quotes when he was our captain.
I mean who can forget his famous "last year was an accident" , sneaking in a dig at City during our championship parade in 2013.
Well , saint Pat has come down hard on the club today in the press , talking about "arrogant people" within the club.
He didn't mention anyone by name of course but he was such a powerful voice during his time as United captain that he'd likely have some pretty good insight of the behaviour of one or two people there.
If I were to guess , I'd say he was talking about a culture of arrogance within the club , perhaps highlighted by the recent incidents in the off season.
Or he could be talking about Pogba who's often criticized in the french media for being arrogant.
I don't know. But what I know is when Patrice Evra has a rant , you listen.

Not sure how much you can believe Evra. It was only Saturday when he claimed Zaha was having an affair with Moyes' daughter and yet they have never met each other. He's a nut case.

Oh dear TOOR.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He’s providing an example as to why you shouldn’t take everything Evra says at face value. It’s completely relevant to the article.

Oh dear Winston.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If TOOR had given a fair representation of what Evra actually said then it might hold water. But he didn't.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You're doing the same thing Winston did. You're taking my comment from another article on a different topic, albeit about the same person and using it to judge my perfectly reasonable comment, on this topic, when it has no relevance to what I said.

Once again, I said:-

Definitely a clown but at least it's entertaining. Usually English media goes for the squeaky clean boring types. They're now mixing it up a bit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No, I wasn't referring to that comment. I was referring to the one where you claimed that Evra had accused Zaha of having an affair with Moyes' daughter. Evra clearly said that he didn't know if it was true or untrue. So you are misrepresenting what he actually said and then using it to suggest that he is untrustworthy. Which is completely unfair.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes - that's what I said; you're referring to a different comment on a different article, with a different topic.

This article was about Evra's crazy nature, which the OP found entertaining. My comment agreed with this. Then some defensive United fans came wading in attacking me, before Winston derailed the thread again, taking it off topic, talking about what I'd said on another topic, claiming 'context' and was subsequently ignored.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not sure if you are being deliberately obtuse, but my point is quite simple. You claimed that Evra had accused Zaha of having an affair. Which isn't true. Then used this untruth to suggest that you can't trust what Evra says and that he is 'nuts'. Making something up and then using that untruth to judge a person is ridiculous.

"Not sure how much you can believe Evra. It was only Saturday when he claimed Zaha was having an affair with Moyes' daughter and yet they have never met each other. He's a nut case."

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, that was a different topic.

I'm really not sure what you don't understand here. On this topic, I agreed with the OP that Evra is nuts but entertaining. I also agreed with another United fan who stated its better than the boring types they usually employ.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I am not disputing this TOOR.

My point was that you said something that is untrue about Evra. He didn't claim that Zaha had an affair with Moyes daughter. He commented on the rumour and said he didn't know if it was true or untrue.

You have then used your own mistake/lie/untruth to suggest that you can't believe what Evra says.

When you (and other Liverpool fans) are making things up about Evra in your own minds, it is no wonder that a lot of you don't like him.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
OK and that's fine. I misunderstood what Evra said. I didn't hear him saying it was true or untrue, just saying it and Sky having to apologise for it and don't be surprised if he isn't called back on, at least for a time.

However this is irrelevant to the topic and in fact was a topic and comments related to the topic on a completely different thread to this one, which I agreed with and which I voiced agreement. I was then met with attacks from United fans for saying the same things others had said.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't think that it is irrelevant. I think it is the perfect example of a Liverpool fan thinking the worst of Evra because of the Suarez thing, rather than actually taking the time to find out the truth of the matter. You were happy to casually suggest Evra is untrustworthy because of something that you didn't even know the facts of.

As I mentioned previously, this is what happened when the Suarez incident ongoing, with Liverpool fans claiming that Evra was a liar and had a history of playing the race card because of the incident with the Chelsea groundsman. Which was a load of BS.

Where's the evidence, TOOR?

I don't see any.

The reason it keeps coming up is because Liverpool fans keep swarming all over articles about Evra, making derogatory comments. It's not a huge leap to link it to Suarez.

Although as I said, perhaps it's a coincidence - you guys do pop up an awful lot these days.

Good grief

No it doesnt.

At the time, and probably still today, all Liverpool fans and yourself included, spent days and hours on here trying to convince yourselves and anybody else who was daft and racist enough to believe your nonesense, that calling somebody 'A Black' or a 'Little Negrita' or saying 'I don't talk to Blacks, wasn't a racist slur. Incredibly.

As I mentioned previously, this is what happened when the Suarez incident ongoing, with Liverpool fans claiming that Evra was a liar and had a history of playing the race card because of the incident with the Chelsea groundsman. Which was a load of BS.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well then I'll ask you the same as I asked Winston? The United fans who shared my opinion of Evra as a pundit, is this anything to do with Suarez? If not, why is it Liverpool fans get accused of having an opinion of Evra as a pundit, based on an irrelevance, Suarez, and yet United fans are fan to have this opinion?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I haven't mentioned your opinion of Evra as a pundit. You (and United fans) are welcome to whatever opinion you want.

I merely pointed out that you unfairly accused him of lying/being untrustworthy. Which harks back to the whole Suarez incident when many LFC fans did the same thing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What's that got to do with this thread?

Err... what?

Incredibly.

Remember now?
