If it goes the way it seems to be being reported ie they get him on loan without an obligation to buy and no mention of Partey it really is poor business. I guess its all about the negotiation but they really should be saying sorry but if your not going to play ball we are only selling him to someone in Italy and if Torreira isn't happy with that then we can just say well you can stay here instead.

Think the point is we don't need to use Torreira as a bargaining chip. Our issue is getting rid of players and trimming the squad. If we want Partey we can trigger his clause and Atletico have no say in the matter. There is an assumption that we need to sell players for the need for money. I don't think we do. I think its a bluff. In Torreira's case I would loan and see what the market does next season. He is young and when we have got rid of Mustafi, Ozil, and Sok next season one way or another we will have ample space in the squad and maybe he would have showed his quality by then.

*I don't think the club is flush with money and I do think we play the pauper card as long as we have to. Its a matter of waiting teams out and working out how much we need certain players. But I suspect we have enough in the budget to deal for players Arteta really wants.

Unless they want to swap Coutinho for Ozil its not on.
