Just something a bit different.... I know this is something Bielsa has done but given our 2 new WBs, a Possible new CB and the fact PEH has been brought into sit in front of the defense..... any thoughts on 3-3-3-1

We would have back ups in the CB positions in Dier, Tanganga.
& Sanchez, Winksissoko as back up to PEH, NDombele & Dele for the No10 Behind GLC, Moura & Stevie to cover the wide positions and Milik to back up Kane.
This gives us lots of flexibility (esp the front 4) and most importantly the ability for the WBs (Both better going forward than traditional defending FBs) to provide width going forward as both Bale & Son tend to cut inside
Looks a well balanced team with players doing what they do best. With the threat of Son & Bale then Kane can also drop deeper as needed to link up the play (as we saw to good effect on Sunday)

need 3 central midfielders on the pitch at any time. we gave the fire power what we lack is control of the midfield. Jose finds it hard to understand this.

Davies and Toby are far too slow. I thought the whole idea of new players coming in was to replace players like Davies, and Toby is not going to be around for that much longer.

Boggles our people still want Davies in the team and even though we have 2 good full backs they would change the formation to suit them. Such a narrow minded view imo.
4 3 3 or 4 2 1 3 or a diamond 4 1 3 2 for me.

that CM wouldn't work, would get overrun and would require Son and Bale to work very hard defensively

can't see the point of having Doherty and Reguilon and playing a back flat four.
Surely they have to play 3 CBs to allow the WBs to get forwards?

most the best wingbacks in history played in a back 4. it's a myth that we need 3 centre backs to play Doherty and Reguilon. all it means is the CMs cover the flanks when they attack. it's down to coaching not formation

you can even have PEH drop into back 4 and push the RCB to RB to cover the space vacated by the attacking full back and vice versa on the left.
This is why you must have 3 CMs. so when PEH drops we still have 2 CMs in the middle adding protection against a fast counter.

yep
have to adapt and use systems. Spurs arguably two best FBs of the PL era have been very effective in back 4 and 5 formations.
