Remarkable meteoric rise to prominence, this late bloomer.
Started out his career at 21 in the French third division...got released, spent a year through hardship & turbulent times unemployed at 23 set to give up on football...eventually signed for Marseille B side deemed not good enough released again, came-back made his debut in the second division at 24 proved himself to be comfortably ahead of that tier in 2 years, which catapulted him to a better first division team later on and here we are now at 28 about to embark on playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world!
Advanced (underlying) metrics for all-round game rivals and stacks up well against some of the best goalkeepers in Europe.

No, but Rennes fans were desperate to keep him.
Even go as far as saying that he's their best ever 'keeper (which is testament to how far he's come along and considering they had Cech) and we got him at bargain.
Rennes fans were expecting double what we paid for him, Marina Granovskaia had other ideas.
PSG could very well offload our former 'keeper Bulka to replace Mendy, which would be interesting.
