Aurier was Spurs best player, put in some great crosses. Ndombele played well, and did the whole 90 minutes. Expect both to start against Newcastle.

great stuff, competition for places raising performances.

From the bit I saw ( last 35 mins odd ) both were good.
Ndombele & GLC linked so well together, be criminal if we can’t find a solution to get them playing together week in week out.

433 is the only way for me. add PEH so GLC and Ndombele can dominate midfields all over the prem.

I did not see the match....it did not rate showin g over here........
Glad Ndombele is beginning to show why he's in the French squad......
Now...what was the opposition like?
Any good?
Or just a village team?
Easy to look good against poor opposition

Son was easily our best player but yes Aurier did well. Ndombele offers forward momentum that our midfield has been lacking. All round a very promising performance, aside from Dele who frustrated yet again.

I still thought Spurs were ambling through the game at times, they never seem to learn that these games need to be put to bed, before you can take your foot of the gas. Two games now where it has taken an opposition goal to wake them up. Better sides will punish Spurs.

We created lots of chances. That is something we haven’t been doing.
Not very testing opposition though

I'm ok with not battering poor opposition in cup games as long as we are victorious. Lets face it whether you win by 1 or 10 goals the outcome is the same you go through to the next round and we've been to the back end of nowhere twice in a week and got the job done. Call me a big turkey but I really fancy us for the Europa this season.
If (big if) we beat Newcastle on Sunday we'll have made a tidy start with 4 wins in 5 games, its a very important match as we have a ridiculously bad home record against them in recent years.

Pawl, need to be on it from the off, never really sure what you are going to get with Newcastle. They lost at home to Brighton last weekend, then won 7-0 midweek. They also won at West Ham. So no sloppy starts or silly mistakes.

Morning Sandy, I watched a bit of the Brighton game and they looked dreadful but as you say their other 2 results have been good so who knows which Newcastle will turn up.
Lets hope Kane and Son bring their Southampton form into the game.

A fast start is absolutely essential. Nearly every game this season, the first half of games have been poor from Spurs. OK, they scored in five minutes yesterday, but then took their foot of the gas. Need to up the tempo of games, once Spurs do that, they look to be able to score at will.
