The new laws are imo a load of rubbish. Ex players and pundits appear to have the same opinion and when you read the forums and twitter it becomes pretty clear that nobody appears to like the new laws.

Its a rule made for one league only. The premier league has 10 games a weekend. There must be another 100,000 games that take place every weekend that cannot use that same rule correctly without VAR. Vast majority of grass roots football sees only 1 referee and no linesman. Ive watched games and the players are all shouting handball at the referees every single time the ball goes in the box. Its creating tension and frustration at grass roots and does not do anything for the enjoyment of anyone watching. Referees simply cannot enforce the rule with any accuracy. They already struggle with offsides attempting to give them from a strange field position.

What is apparent that despite the laws having been around for some time now, defenders are still getting caught out? Why? Because its impossible to play the game of football with your hands by your side running around the box like a penguin. Its not natural!!

I think anyone who has ever played the game knows it's a load of nonsense. The only people in favour of it are people who think football is a TV show and don't understand that a slow motion replay doesn't give players more time to react.

The game didn't need this rule, didn't ask for it and obviously doesn't want it.
Its created more issues than its solved.

the game does not need VAR.
Almost every game is now ended by discussions about the key decisions in the game.
What happened to discussing the actual match action!
Who played well? Tactics etc.

Its absolute madness. Take the cameras away.

The handball rule is so heavily weighted towards attackers its a farce. Might as well just try and aim a shot hit towards someones arm to get a penalty

With Roy on this one - deem it accidental or not I.e. keep it simple.

This is Football for heavens sake not Golf.

Then concept of VAR is a good one, but instead of being a constructive influence it is a destructive influence. Sadly the powers that be clearly feel its presence has to be justified, hence the increasing level of over-interference. For once, I wish they'd listen to ex players like Shearer and Lineker, who talk total sense (in this case, at least...).

Goal line technology is fine as it's black and white. VAR is basically another ref giving an opinion. Problem is it slows the game down. I would never have had VAR and my opinion still remains.
