Think Yesterday Was Bad? I'm Afraid It

.... might get worse.

Much of the focus (quite rightly) is on the ludicrous penalty decision yesterday, but Son's injury seems to have fallen a little below the radar.

The biggest scandal is that Spurs have been forced again to play Sunday (yesterday), Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday (and the Sunday game against Man U would have been on Saturday but for a late change due to TV schedules).

This type of schedule is inevitably going to bring on more injuries to key players. I am not one for conspiracy theories, but I do wonder if this would be permitted if it was Liverpool or Man U.

The authorities are single handedly ruining our chances and potentially ruining our season before it has really taken off.

Yesterday's performance provided much hope for the future, particularly with our new signings (Bale and Reguilon) waiting in the wings, but what hope can we have for success if the "rules", fixtures and increased potential for injuries are stacked against us?

They refused to adjust our fixtures(Liverpool) last December when we played in the Club World Cup. Had to play U18s in the cup and got hit for five.

No favours.

Who cares about the club world cup, glorified friendlies solely there to make money, there is fack all glory playing in that.

This does nothing to take away from the point I was making but thanks for the reply.

When will we sign a striker? Wait for Kane to get injured first

Tbf you'd have had pretty much a similar fixture schedule as most other clubs, had it not been for Arsenal winning the FA Cup, and pushing you into the EL qualifiers.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

But Arsenal did win it and our fixtures now include 3 more games than others and 3 consecutive weeks of 3 games a week.

City & Utd get leeway for their late end to their season and have an extra week off. we have 9 games in 20 days, or whatever, and no concession given whatsoever.

crazy fixture list. we had to play to 2 games in 2 days last December on 2 different continents.
We played the kids in a league cup quarter final in one of these games and they were beaten 5-0.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep, I was aware of that when I wrote my article. The difference is that only the League cup was at risk, not PL position or a European tournament
----------------------------------------------------------------------
we also missed a PL game so that added to our already busy schedule. So no we didn't get any favors.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You got no favours for one week of congestion.

If we are successful in our games then our start of the season fixtures could be:

Sunday. Thursday, Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday.

I think Spurs would happily have a fixture deferred and played some other time. Anything must be better than 9 games in 22 days

We don't need another player who is good at getting the ball into the back of the net anymore, just one who is good at getting it onto an arm.

Some Spurs fans are genuinely thick.

take it there's plenty of fanbases without any thick fans at all then?
