Are the majority of us all backing Orta now?
After a shocker of a first season when I certainly wanted him out the club he has held his hands up and admitted the tactics in the market were all wrong he has turned it around very impressively. Now it seems we have stopped talking about him which can only be a good thing and we are unanimously approving of his transfers.
The 4 transfers that really stand out to me, which justify having a director of football, and the scouting network we have are;
Mateus Klich
Jack Harrison
Ben White
Ilan Meslier
All unheard of with very little presence in the game. They were all complete unknowns that have/are proving to be bargains. Without signings like this we would really have struggled to get out the Championship.

I thought Augustin was on loan at Monaco and cut it short to come to us?..

It was a season long loan.. and Monaco agreed to cancel it. Ie they were looking to get out of it.
Shame, he’s a talented lad... now caught in the middle of a legal wrangle between 2 clubs who don’t want him.

It wasn't just on Orta the Augustine situation. It was a collective decision. Anyway the key thing is we got promoted and can learn any lessons from it that we need to.
Excited and impressed by recruitment strategy this year.time will tell on its impact but I feel they have gone about it the right way.

Yep it’s happened we move on. If we can get a couple of the names mentioned in before the deadline I’m sure even the grumpiest of Leeds fans will be pretty happy with this window’s recruitment.

And on the downside....
Che Adams
Dan James
Ben White
I believe that's three out of the last four transfer windows we've failed to get our number one target.

To be fair:
Che Adams - Southampton decided to keep him
Dan James - Them came calling and we got scr3w3d
Ben White - He was never ours

Orta’s first team signings on the whole have been a success imo

Call me dumb if you want but Augustin and Leipzig agreed to cut his loan early because Leeds were asking about him!..
Had nothing to do with Monaco wanting rid and Leipzig not wanting him, if Leeds hadn't enquired he would have seen his loan out at Monaco!..

At this stage, it is very difficult to assess Orta's performance outside of the obvious authority Bielsa has on every decision he makes. Bielsa is obsessive. The changes he has made impact on fundamental decisions at every level. I doubt there is a single decision on the playing front that does not go through him. Does this make Orta brilliant at his job, or has Bielsa put a reign on his excesses? I am inclined to believe the latter.

I don’t think your dumb fella! We just see this one differently.
My point is Why would we even know he was available if he was tied to a 1 year loan deal? The most obvious answer is he was being touted around no?. He got little game time at Monaco, if they wanted him he was theirs to keep. If Leipzig wanted him back they’d Jac me taken him back and not sold him. Just my take on it.

On the negative side of the ledger, we're still trying
to sell Grot, Shaughnessy, and the ever humorous:
Ouasim Bouy
(in addition Kiko & Douglas are being shopped)

milky, when I try finding him on the internet most of what I get is German, a reason I send a lot of links in German!..
But his Wiki,(English!)says it the way I know it!..
Look at Monaco,(loan)...and Leeds (loan)...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean-K%C3%A9vin_Augustin
You'll see he left Monaco and came directly to us after "his" club and he agreed to end the loan deal!..
