I wouldn’t say that’s the only issue. He hated living in Manchester and was really piiiiissed off with how the club treat him. I’d be very, very surprised if Zaha ever player for Manchester United again.

can't say i blame him, he's seen james play almost 50 games for united, and lingard manage 6 seasons and over 200 games, whereas he was basically shipped out after 6 months and 4 appearances.

given that he agreed to join a club that were on their way to winning the league under one of the greatest managers of all time, i doubt he'd be quite as enthusiastic to join as a squad player under the current set up.

But he has played for Ole before and they have a good relationship apparently. He will also have a point to prove. Woy mentioned in an interview that Zaha is eager to prove himself at the top and in Europe. I do hope someone comes info him, because he wasn't treated well by us as you've highlighted, he certainly is good enough to play for a EL/CL team.

Yeah there’s that as well. But from what I’ve read the issue he has is how he was treated as a club. We didn’t support him well enough when he moved to Manchester, where he was a young lad on his own, and they made a bit of a to do about him buying a flash car, despite so many others at the club having one. That apparently was the biggest problem he had, the lack of game time was actually less of an issue.

I’d be surprised if he ever leaves London. He didn’t like being away from home at Cardiff either.

yeah, i'd forgotten that he played under ole at cardiff...he'd be a decent signing at the right price, and we'd get 25% off, though no doubt palace would just jack up the price to reflect that. i did read earlier in the summer that he might be available for £40mish, at £30m net he'd be a big upgrade on the lingards of this world.

sterling has received similar criticism, not entirely sure what multi-millionaires in their early 20s are sipposed to do with their cash, bit young to be diversifying into triple A rated corporate bonds. sounds a bit too much like goodfellas to me, here's all your money, but don't you dare go and buy a mink coat for your wife with it.

He's also much more aggressive and direct than Greenwood and rashfor, which would certainly help against the stubborn teams where we don't quite seem to beable to break down

Yeah don’t give them lots of money and then expect them not to spend it on material goods.

I do feel a bit sorry for Zaha. Must be a real kicker to get that move to Man United, then Fergie retires and this all unfolds. I don’t care how much money he has, must have been really hard for him.

It’s also just another example of our failures to develop and nurture talent. Depay, Zaha, Rashford and Martial, if developed properly, would have been quite the group of attackers.
