This competition is so underwhelming

Ludogorets sounds more like the name of a throat lozenge than a football club.

I totally agree and I've mentioned this before.

I'm not even saying it because it makes things harder, it's the principle. If you fail to qualify for the Champions League knockout stages, finishing 3rd in the group shouldn't mean you get a second bite of the cherry to win a European trophy. As you say, it's rewarding failure.

But it means more £££ for UEFA so it's not like the rule will be changed.
