Obvious Changes

Surely its not just me that see's the obvious changes staring us in the face!
Last season our main threats were down both the right and left flanks. This season its not really happening. People have been quick to get on Snoddy's back for his below par performances which i agree he's nowhere near his best at the moment but dropping him is not the answer. The problem is he has no support going forward he can't do it all on his own! In a way a victim of his own success last season because now every team has extra players around him to mark him out of the game. The obvious change there is to get Connolly back in (An actual Right Back) who can support/overlap Snoddy going forward, worked fine last season? The next obvious change is to get Tom Lees (An actual centre back) playing in his proper position! at least give him chance to grow and get better in his prefered place. The next obvious change for me is why not swap Aidy white and Danny pugh round? i'd love to see Aidy running at defenders more he's proved in a couple of games how good he is going forward and i think Pugh would do a job at left back and they can both over lap and cover each other, a proper partnership? What does anyone else reckon??

This is basically the conversation I had with my brother yesterday, it does seem relatively obvious, which begs the question as to why it hasn't been tried yet, connolly is not objectionable as a player and will do until it can be fully sorted, their are pleanty if lads that could have been loaned in and I'm not buying what shaun Harvey was selling in the YEP

The situation with White is interesting.

Grayson has said a number of times that he sees White as a left midfielder, yet he never plays him there.

Will he play him there now Pugh is here?

Good post and follow up points.

Seem solid on the left with Pugh at the back and White left midfield.

Need to see what Parnaby can do...

Definately need two centre halves.

I would drop Howson and give Vyrnynan a go.

That may have been Grayson's problem Jonty,

I got the feeling that White was being played at LB because we didn't really have anyone else.

Pugh gives us that option of pushing White further forward.

Tall, I know about a month ago the club were looking for left backs.

Really don't know what Grayson's thinking is, all I know is that White has done a good job at left back. Yes he has made mistakes there, but you learn the most from mistakes and he has to be given some sort of a chance.

I also know that he looks great going forward, the more experience he can get the better.

If I was Grayson I would find a way to give him as much match time as possible this season to develop him.

TO TRUE

Tom Lees is to light weight and in experienced. Bring in a premier league standard center half, 3/4 players and we will get promoted

Ok LuSHAUNo mate you're right, the realistic and easy solution is just to bring in one of the many availible 'Premier league standard' centre back's and then just 3/4 more player's and we've cracked it! can't believe i did'nt think of that..

I thought we did the whole "premier league standard" centre back with the whole andy o'brien thing
