Now regardless how we played today little has been made of the part lamela played in the sending off of martial.
Should he have been sent off? Probably because you cant raise your hands, but the way lamela went down was an absolute joke.
And where was the VAR check for the arm into the throat of martial which caused the Frenchman to retaliate.
Surely if martial was going to walk then a check should have been carried out and lamela should have followed???
Like I say, despite how we were playing, there was always the possibility of comeback no matter how slight, but this decision certainly put the nail in the coffin
Lack of VAR

Listen - Lamela should’ve had a yellow, minimum, Martial was a straight red for retaliating.
But Shaw was also a straight red for that tackle on Lucas.
And we took you to the cleaners anyway

Why should have just been a yellow? How was martial's any worse?
Agree with the shaw knee totally though

Shaw one

Yeah, both should have been sent off but common sense says a yellow and move on. Can’t believe VAR didn’t ask him to check them.
Also find it a little annoying the bench who saw it in the TV weren’t up in arms.
Thought bailly could have seen red for that cheeky stamp too

Being the instigator or retaliator makes zero difference. They both raised their arms, if one is a red so is the other.
Lamelas dive was embarrassing too.

Var was never going to change it. Lamelas was a yellow. The difference with Martials was the intent was a lot clearer - he wasn’t trying to push him away, it was just a reaction
Had the ref given them both yellows then VAR wouldn’t have changed that either.

meltonblue so if you walk down the street and someone smashes you in the face with an elbow and full arm unprovoked, you wouldn't raise your arm to protect yourself? Martial just touched him with fingers brush but Lamela one was a clear red card. Honestly VAR has cost us against Palace and Spurs now big game changing decisions both wrongly against us. I reckon if there was a red card to give any fair ref would have given it to Lamela but like I have been saying since last season it is corrupt. You know it is corrupt when they came out and said they made the wrong decision against Man Utd in about 10 games last season as they didn't see the clear incidents they were supposedly reviewing? We would have finishef with about 80 points last season if VAR did its job.

I believe they made around 30 simple big decisions wrongly in Man Utd games last season and VaR was supposed to come in to stop them. In fact i can't recall a season so many easy decisions even VAR wasn't required was still messed up. If I made a video of all the decisions VAR got wrong against Man Utd, there could be a scandal behind the office who run VAR.

It is funny Mourinho thinks Spurs would have got top 4 if it wasn't for VAR when if VAR did the correct decisions we would have finished around 30 points clear of Spurs.

Honestly think if Mourinho was in charge of Man Utd last season, nearly every game he would say VAR is against us. He only thinks we get favoured due to narrative of ABU media but he would probably quit managing if he saw the decisions wrongly given against Man Utd last season. That is the reason why we had similar stats to Liverpool last season and finished so far behind.
