This actually happened also in LVG CL elimination, De Gea couldn’t even save simple shots against Wolfsburg or PSV away in games we completely dominated and we were eliminated. De Gea is actually as bad as Kepa. Any shot not straight at him even if from 40 yds out and it is a goal.

Irish Red he is statistically one of the best goalkeepers in history. It was funny Solskjaer got Romero to play the semi-finals last season after Romero played most of the games before keeping nearly clean sheets after clean sheets. De Gea plays and concedes like 5 goals more than expected and Solskjaer is baffled how we go out of all 3 cup competitions. I guarantee you know we would have made the final in all 3 competitons if Romero played. Most of the goals we conceded were goalkeeping errors. I reckon of the 8 goals we conceded , expected goals would have been max 2 for them.

Blarmy Romero could probably not save a shot in a whole season and still have a similar career save percentage and saves per game record as Kepa.

Sorry I meant De Gea to play the semi-finals. Each time Solskjaer dropped Romero he said he was great everytime he played. It is like making Phil Jones the penalty taker instead of Fernandes.

Interesting that our decline in the league has also seen us keep fewer clean sheets in the league. If De Gea was world class then how do you explain in last 7 seasons, De Gea rarely saving more than the opposition keeper? Never seen a goalkeeper average 1 save per half for nearly his whole time at Man Utd and win so many awards. Imagine Van Der Saar or Schmeichel if they got praised for making 1 save per half average in there time at Man Utd? Is it a coincidence since Van Der Saar left we struggled in Europe apart from when Romero plays? Van der Saar would usually keep clean sheets for fun making a few saves per game. De Gea usually concede a goal every 2 shots on target in european games and has done in most of his games since he has been here.
