So what do we think of the window?

Donny, good player, fair price, I'd like to see more of him.

Traore. Fits in with the project of signing good young players, hoping for a class of '22.

Telles. Never heard of him until recently. Is he better than Shaw,? attacking maybe, but perhaps not as good at the other end.

Cavani. Who knows, worth a punt. If he stays fit we will say it was a masterstroke, if...

Overall, not great, but not a disaster. Ole has to come up with the right formation now.
We all think it's easy, but we all come up with different ones.

I’m scarred by Mourinho, and it’s not like that defensive shiiiiit stopped us getting hammered in games. Simeone should never, ever be anywhere near this club. He’s the Argentine Shaun Dyche. If he ever did I’d hope Beckham’s straight on his jet and really gives him something to cry about, the priiiiick.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Mourinho's ultra pragmatic footy scarred everyone. He was nothing like during his first Chelsea stint, changed at Real, even his second stint at Chelsea wasn't that bad. He was awful for us. There is still that defensive mindset at the heart of Jose's plans but I am enjoying his Spurs side of late, it's taking shape.

It was grim under Jose at Utd.

I actually enjoy watch Ath Madrid but at times they are boring but equally they can be expansive and exciting. Same goes for Allegri's sides

Rather have a solid foundation to work from than the shambles we saw over the weekend. Somewhere down the middle, not too gung ho or too defensive.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The break between United and Spurs seemed to do him good and he looks reinvigorated there. Reckon they’ll win a trophy and come top 4.

Kane may well do well under him as Jose doesn’t really have too much of a structured approach to what he wants someone like Kane to do. Kane can improvise and may well become the creative force this season. If he and Son can stay fit they’ll be right up there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Utd were perfect for him

We had the money, the platform but the club was too big a monster for him. He's perfect where his ego is bigger than the club

Plus he does not have a clueless Ed to deal with him!

I'm actually starting to fear every match now. I thought Ole changed that, I enjoyed last session immensely.

At least we don’t have PSG, Chelsea, Arsenal, Leipzig and Everton coming up 😟

😢

Right, I need my happy pills!

Allegri or Simone even
———
Do you actually enjoy watching football?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Chelsea type managers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’m pretty confident that one of those will take over from Lampard and win you the title in the next year or two.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

And not have them at Utd?! Too boring for us but perfect for other sides to win the league!

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well yes. Chelsea are a club where that style of football has been incredibly effective, and the fans don’t care as it’s effective. Not quite the same with United is it? And they wouldn’t win the title with us as we don’t know how to build title winning squads and get the right managers to deliver them. Chelsea have plenty of experience in doing just that.

Burnley are more enjoyable to watch than Atleti. Allegri I could tolerate more, but it still won’t be that enjoyable.

The shiiiiitshow at the weekend shouldn’t inform what kind of manager we go for after Ole. It’s not like we were playing gung ho, we sat back and let them destroy us.

But let’s be honest, it United were playing at their top of their game with confidence to go out and win we wouldn’t have been destroyed like that. It says a lot about the state we are currently in that Mourinho was confident enough to let his team go out there and take the game to the opposition. He never does that away from home against the bigger sides, even at Real Madrid they’d play on the counter in those kind of games - and they had facking Ronaldo.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Add Dyche to the list now! 😂

We just need the right structure, manager to control this beast. It could be Poch, it could be Allegri, it could be Simone, it could even be Dyche!

Wish it was Ole but it is looking like time could be up for him soon unless results pick up drastically.

We needed a CB, LB, DM, RW.

Nice to have would have been a ST.

We signed an AM, 34 year old ST, LB and a kid who has played 30 minutes of football and cannot even obtain a permit to register him.

It was a very bad window.

If we had started the season with 5 wins in a row and everyone firing, most would have thought this a pretty decent window, with 3 young signings inline with the "project" and two experienced heads to help the youngsters...

As is it all looks very bad...

All about the context imo...

Other than VdB don't know what to make of the others...

Cavani not played for 7 months, so he'll probably spend half the year getting fit and the other half adapting to the league...

Telles will likely only work for us with a back 3 (which Ole needs to switch to if he wants to keep his job)

The two teenagers are for next season at best...

Even VdB will only thrive when Martial, Bruno and Rash kick into gear... He needs good players around him.

The only good signing that has been made is van de Beek imo. Not sure if Telles is an improvement on Shaw and it may be difficult adapting to a better league and a couple of teenage wingers who have seemingly come from nowhere doesn't exactly seem to be anything special either. Cavani could do ok but considering his age its not something for the long term.

Its as if United had a plan to sign some top young players and threw all of that out of the window when they couldn't get the Sancho deal done. Thought about signing a couple of teenage wingers for that quota and signed Cavani just because he was there to be had. Panic buying I think.
