RANGERS WINDOW

Transfer Window:

IN:
Roofe
Hagi
Itten
Defoe
Bassey
McLaughlin
Balogun
Zungu

OUT:
Docherty
Polster
Alnwick
Foderingham
Holt
Rossiter
Halliday
Hastie
McCrorie
Flanagan
Murphy

He's been backed.

Would have preferred a right winger in but beggers can't be choosers
Certainly an upgrade in quality. Only really sad to see McCrorie go.

Anyone who signs Wilshere surely would only offer a pay per game deal.

Welbeck also just released. An interesting one, still think we are short of a wide option because i'm not convinced be Jones or Barker but our squad probably too big.

We still have Middleton, McPake and Kennedy all as young attacking players if we are stuck.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Think McPake is off to Morton and Kennedy is off to ICT (and interestingly not Bayern Munich or Man City as his plum of an agent tried to tell him).

On McCrorie - I agree he has real attributes. Creativity isnt one of them unfortunately which means he was never going to be a regular in our midfield.

He did a great job of screening the back four against the tougher teams but in the games we had 70+ percent possession and he was expected to create something his limitations are shown up.

And he isnt big enough or good enough to get a game at CB ahead of the 5 we currently have in there.

So for the sake of the boys career it was right to move him on.

My only gripe is we should have been looking for nearer £1m for McCrorie. In the right team he is without doubt an asset.

In terms of the transfer window - it has been pretty decent. We are going to have a bit of an interesting bun fight for the CF starting position when Roofe is fit. I liked his link up play and movement more than Morelos.

I was really wanting to shift Morelos so we could all get on with our lives but we are nowhere near as reliant on him now so I am calmer about that. If he gets suspended and misses a few games it will him sitting on the bench watching Roofe and Itten scoring the goals instead.

For me we are much stronger than we were last season. Kent is settled and fit. Helander is fit and getting a run - I would say he is our best out and out defender. Barisic is the best LB in the league by some distance and Tavs is playing out his skin.

The one big area where we needed new blood was in CM (despite Arfields sterling efforts as a stand in). Time will tell if Zungu is up to it.

Wiltshire is paper talk for me and I would only expect to see him rock up at Ibrox if Aribos injury was a season ender.

Agree.

Although I'm sure a few will tell you Tim Kardashian is the best left back

The first two didn’t cut it. Jamie Murphy couldn’t be guaranteed game time which is what he needed after his injury.

The players we already had were better.

Kent is better than Murphy.

Davis/Jack/Kamara/Arfield all better than Docherty or McCrorie in CM.

Any other CB we have is better then McCrorie at CB.

Thats why none of them got a game.

If Edmunson (our 5th choice CB) went to Aberdeen he would be their best defender and would stand out.
