The 2020/21 PL season is scheduled to start late on 12 September, and, combined with European club competitions, FA Cup and League Cup fixtures a packed scheduled is required to finish by next summer.
The winter break is scrapped to accommodate fixtures. Similarly jammed schedules are seen across Europe.
Meanwhile, the Nations League is scheduled to require international breaks from:
September 2 to 9 (the week before the resumption of elite club football)
October 9 to 15 (after three/four PL fixtures)
November 11 to 19 (after a further four PL fixtures)
All international confederations will break from January 24 to February 1, before they do so again (without UEFA, but which is expected to announce a break for friendlies) from March 22 to March 30.
And the European Championships will begin on June 11.
Just a complete and utter nonsense.
Beyond the daft number of fixtures for players to stagger through and disruption to club training programmes and form, each time the national teams meet and travel overseas, the risk of COVID transmission is escalated very significantly as bubbles are broken.
The Nations League should have been scrapped and international friendlies binned until at least Spring 2021 to help the players and to protect them and national team staff.

International football should be banned and not played again. The top football is played in the top leagues and CL.
