There’s growing pressure on the Government to allow fans back into stadiums. This is against the background of a worrying resurgence of coronavirus transmissions and deaths.
I don’t want to get into a debate about whether the Government’s current stance of not allowing fans in stadiums is correct or not. What I want to know from my fellow Spurs fans is how can this be achieved, in the absence of a vaccine?
The main conundrum is how to maintain social distancing to and from stadiums, as well as in the actual stadiums themselves?
Come on guys, let’s see if we can solve this problem for the Government (assuming it’s solvable!)
My two penny’s worth is:
• Start with a reduced capacity of say 25%.
• Make it compulsory for masks/face coverings to be worn. Or put it another way, make it a criminal offence not to wear one.
• Contact test and trace details will obviously need to be provided at the time of booking tickets.
• Assuming everyone wears a face covering then exiting and entering the stadiums shouldn’t necessarily require lengthy queues.
• Eject anyone from the stadium found not to be wearing a mask and ban them from booking future tickets (for a period of time).
I can’t imagine what it would feel like (or sound like) trying to sing and cheer our team on whilst wearing a mask, but wouldn’t this be better than nothing?
Come on guys, is there a solution to this problem in the absence of a vaccine? And remember, there’s no real guarantee an effective vaccine will be found.
Will my ideas work or not. Do you have any other (constructive!) suggestions or is the only solution a vaccine?

Gezza as much as I would love to see fans back in stadiums it's not going to happen any time soon, this. country is facked for the time being.
I've said it a thousand times but the only way around all of this is for a full lockdown again.
Even buisneses are failing to follow all proper social distancing rules.
I started a new job 2 weeks ago, my first week was full training I got stuck with 19 other people in a shoe box room with no social distancing, I have an approx 2 meter gap beside me, a 1 foot gap in front of me and someone sat right behind me at approx 3 inches.
Its a facking pissss take, if I didn't need the money id tell them I wouldn't be back until proper saftey measures are in place. We have had 6 people ill this week with the squirts and sickness, so we are told. it wouldn't suprise me if they all have covid and they haven't told us.
I'd I get this virus I will report them and then look to sue, for failing basic saftey measures. I might take some pictures and find a copper this afternoon to see what he says.
