Covid continued

"Tripling"

thats the new phrase to describe the UK running at 15k cases a day up from the 5k a day at the height of the 'pandemic'.

Health officials have however argued that during the period 25 march - 25 may 100,000 people were contracting the disease every day. It is only improved testing which is now finding these cases which will 99.99/100 not lead to death.

Their logic is keeping with The WHO who believe actual covid cases are ridiculously understated and 'assumed' deaths are a frustration, particularly in the US and the UK.

Just let that sink in.

If there are in the ball park with 100k a day for 60 days, ignoring every case or death before or in the 5 months afterwards, 28k deaths from 6m cases during that period allowing a 14 day run off after may 25, 0.05% death rate.

Thats before you even factor in the assumed deaths that were never tested and are a sore point of debate yet still recorded as covid19.

now think about those cancer patients, dialysis patients, those unemployed, the millions affected by these draconian measures.

I hope when this is over, and the final numbers are tallied the governments around the world are held to task for this nonsense. But, thats the same wishful thinking that thought the GFC would trigger major banking reform.

The idea that taking a laissez-faire attitude to Covid-19 would free up the NHS to treat people with 'real' illnesses is baseless. The point is made succinctly by a doctor who has direct experience and expertise:

https://twitter.com/drphiliplee1/status/1314317344932597760?s=19

More generally, the idea that a more relaxed approach to the pandemic is more appropriate really doesn't stack up. Everyone anti-lockdown pointed to Sweden, and yet they have way more cases and deaths per capita than their Nordic neighbours. All the evidence suggests that the less (and later) you control the pandemic, not only the worse the health outcomes, but the worse the economic consequences. The UK's initial two-week flirtation with 'herd immunity' is the primary reason we are projected to have the worst Covid recession among comparable countries.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How are the antibody levels in Sweden of vulnerable vs less vulnerable.

There is very much growing support for attempting to attain herd immunity.

The emphasis is on shortening the length of the pandemic rather than prolonging it causing much more damage.

You can’t compare Sweden to the U.K. Stockholm has a population of less than 1m. It’s a massive country with a very small population density. So the R rate is going to be lower.

Same with comparing the U.K. to germany!

Just follow the rules. Was out today, 7 people in shops without masks-grown adults.

I’m showing that Sweden’s decision to not lockdown hasn’t been the disaster that everybody thought it was.

Perfectly fine. I have isolated/worked from home with minimal interaction with others since 12th March.

Not furloughed, solid organ transplant recipient. So yeah, keep the elderly and vulnerable safe I say and let natural selection sort the idiotic out.

So you didn’t want it then? Shame because it was three top level professors whose lives have been dedicated to knowing this stuff inside and out and what you posted above about keeping the elder and more vulnerable (like yourself) safe but letting everyone else carry on to achieve herd immunity.

Watch the video it’s not some random weirdos form YouTube lol they’re professors from the top universities in the world.
