What DIer was correct but he was extremely unlucky.

You don't let the attacker cut accross you in a pen box, and Dier rightly tackled the ball, and he did get the ball. The only part he did wrong is you never go down in the box. We all know why or ask Pogba v Davies Sunday before.

Dier was left to hung dry by the full back who should have dealt with the situation.

He isn't a CB and it's obvious.

I would say he's obviously a CB

I’d say it’s obvious he’s a CB

Our CBs need to learnt to use their upper body strength and win headers. Attackers are looking for trips and contact and our CBs oblige.

I hope Ledley King is working on this. You can affect an attackers balance to put him off a shot without taking his ankles out.

i for one would say obvs hes a central back

I like Eric Dier... I’m not saying he should be the ideal 1st choice CB... but... he is very committed... gives 100%....he’s quite decent on the deck... good in the air & is very vocal...

He is definitely is a CB...

He must be a decent player if he’s been asked to fill in as RB & DM.....

Dier is our most capable CB for playing out from the back when on the left.

I think people are quick to write him off, he’s given a few pens away recently but before June he had only given one away in his whole spurs career. I’m not really sure how good he will be as he seems to struggle with thru-balls over the top, but he is very competent when the game is in front of him.

This is all part of a partnership. He could do with someone alongisde him with more pace and reads the game better than Sanchez. Dier is the aggressor - He let Lukaku bully him first half but then asserted himself a lot more and Lukaku's impact was diminished.

I think this is more the issue than anything Our CBS are decent/good individually but none of them suit eachother particularly
