Ole's Response

Morning all. I have been very, very eager to write this article now for some time; but I needed space first to reflect on everything i've seen and heard about Ole these last few weeks. If anyone was wondering where I have been and why my article wasn't last week, I profusely apologise and am sorry if anybody felt let down.

I would like to just place on record how disgraceful some of the abuse levelled at Ole has been. I have sat here shaking in rage and disbelief at some of what i've read, some people should feel ashamed of themselves. You have to remember, it took Fergie 4 seasons to win at United and people also wanted him gone too.

In the aftermath of the transfer window, I see no argument against Ole whatsoever. He simply hasn't been backed by the board and if people can't see that, perhaps they shouldn't watch football. He wanted Sancho to complete the attacking identity of the squad, but Ed wouldn't pay the money. Is that the manager's fault??? No. Simple.

On the good side of things: Cavani, however, I see as a great signing by Ole and someone who can help bring that winning mentality to the dressing room. I feel like Ole persuading Cavani to join, not only shows how well respected he is as a manager, but I feel like this signing has a sprinkle of Fergie about it too. Cavani could have gone pretty much anywhere but he chose Ole, I think it's important people remember that.

Another gigantic plus point is that Ole is making this United sign his own. He's slowly getting rid of the last of Fergie's players (Jones will go next) which is something that is necessary. I guarantee when Ole walked into that dressing room 22 months ago, he could smell too much of Fergie. De Gea, Young, Smalling and Jones. Slowly they're all being fazed out now which is great to see. Under Ole I genuinely believe that United will move out of the shadow of Ferguson and forge a new time.

Finally, the result against Spurs was less than satisfactory. Everybody knows that and can see it. Looking at the bigger picture though, it will just become a bump in the road. It should also be looked into, however, that historically speaking Ole follows up a loss with a huge run of wins. Look at the Burnley game last season for proof of that. I can see United solidifying a place in the top 4 over the next 8 weeks and then all of the Ole Out brigade will suddenly love him again.

That will be Ole's response.

Pretty sad opening post.

Impassioned perhaps, but deeply and consistently flawed

Yet you provide no evidence of this. Let me guess, you want Ole out? Yet 2 months ago you were probably lauding him as the new Fergie.

Some other posters and myself have taken pieces of what you wrote and gave you the facts that contradicted them.

Some people on this site love Ole when he does well, but slate him when he doesn't

Even if you want Ole to remain manager you can still criticise him/the team if we play crap.

No problem with that at all.

Because of how pathetic people are. Ole is giving everything to United, 2 places away from winning the title etc
