on the bench for England.
Why exactly?

We've been stacked with 10s for ages and with rice Phillips and hendo we have some decent DMs
A CM who can contribute going forward and in build up play whilst not being a defensive liability is something we seem to be totally lacking.

Grealish

Or even TAA, if he doesn't want him at right back.

Problem is that it’s only really Barkley that had managed to look good in that position for England under Southgate. Despite the options we have, it still remains a problem position on the pitch. Though Southgate’s not helping with his failure to give Grealish an opportunity there.

Personally I think Mount is really only useful in the final third, I don't think he offers enough as a ball progressor through his dribbling or his passing to play in central midfield
He's like Dele in that respect

I don’t think he offers enough in the final third either. I get that he’s in there for his pressing, and has good understanding of where to place himself off the ball, but it doesn’t solve those issues you mention.
I think one of the flaws in the thinking is that England don’t have a well organised pressing system, which is understandable given the change of players and lack of time to prepare.
There needs to be some individualism in that middle area of the pitch.

Can’t say I agree Chris mate, even lastnignt Mount was the only attacking showing for the ball, making things happen.

I actually think, while rashford is playing so poorly, that mount and grealish behind and/or around a cf would be very good

Yeah I think Mount does a lot more than take shots.

Sterling walks straight back into the England team. There’s going to be one position available in this crappy 343 for the other attackers. A lot can happen by the Euros, but it’s likely that spot will be between Rashford and Sancho based on Southgate’s preferences.
