I think that we were all a little disappointed with how the transfer window panned out. However, with the return of PL football on the horizon, I am starting to get excited about seeing our new singings perform.
Obviously Cavani will not be available against Newcastle and I doubt that either Telles or Pellistri will start. However, I am hopeful that we might see them come off the bench.
I think that of the 3 signings Telles will likely add most to the team, as we really don't have many players that can put a decent cross in. That said, I am most looking forwards to seeing Pellistri play. Purely based on a few videos that I have seen of him. The lad looks like he enjoys running with the ball and taking on players. If you have a player that is brave enough to drive forwards with the ball and run into the heart of the opponents defence, it creates space for others. Pellistri looks like he is happy to do this, so excited to see him play.
Which signing is everyone else most excited about?

We struggle enough with 11 on the pitch Rosso let alone 9!

It's all about the spines. I did think that was the case though as there's no Dan James in either line up.

Telles. Shaw has become a liability and I’d quite happily never see him play for us ever again. If Telles can make that role his own I’d be stoked.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
what a crock of sheite.
Shaw has been no more of a liability than any other player this season ffs.
in fact last season he was actually one of our better players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Are you kidding? He was atrocious against Spurs. The guy offers nothing in attack and is possibly the most easily replaced members of our 11.
Telles, while not perfect at the back (though I doubt he’d be worse than Shaw) offers far more going forward and it’s about time our left side offered a threat from more than just Rashford.
Look at the three sides who won the big prizes last season - Bayern, Sevilla and Liverpool. They had Alphonso Davies, Reguilon and Robertson. All exciting and dangerous attacking left backs. It’s a joke we still have Shaw. And if Telles can be that guy we’ll cringe we still had faith in Shaw as late as 2020.
I really wanted us to sign Shaw back in 2014 but it would seem that injury in 2015/2016 ruined him as he’s never really looked the same since.

so your basing it on a spurs game where we lost 6-1.. and youre pinpointing shaw... good lord

I wonder what kind of team selection v Newcastle would make the fans on here fume the most?
Grant
Williams
Bailly
Lindelof
Shaw
Matic
Fred
McT
Lingard
Ighalo
James
...would be my quick suggestion.

I'm just going by what's available so that rules out Rojo and Jones but I did overlook TFM (although if experience of JA has taught me anything it's taught me that you get better if you don't play)

back to AWB convo
I was totally against us signing him but now that we have hime I pray he improves.
I had reluctantly conceded that AWB had a much brighter future than dalot. Now I am not so sure and I will be keeping an eye on dalot's exploits in serie A.
AC play inter this weekend, I wonder if dalot will play a role. As bad as he was at times, I honestly saw the basis of a good full back. He seemed to lack application and I wonder if it was a coaching issue

Pellestri, Diallo and Telles I’m most looking forward to seeing. Actual right wingers and a left back that does something going forward.
