Hope this Joe Roden fellow can defend in the air.

I also don't think we can afford to be picking on Toby, he may have dropped off but he's still our best CB in my opinion.

Yep, lets hope Rodon can hit the ground running, because we certainly need an imposing CB.

Toby makes very few errors and even if he has lost half a yard of pace is way better than the inconsistent calamity that is Sanchez.

Toby is much better than Dier and Sanchez. Ndombele and Lo Celso (especially the former) are clearly head and shoulders above our other midfield options.

Bale will prove to be much better than Bergwijn and Moura.

I don't think there's much in it between any of our CBs. There are games when you'd want Sanchez over Toby because of his pace. Only Dier has a case for being nailed on because he can play on the left.

I'd say one of Ndombele/Lo Celso should be starting every game but I don't think both have to be whilst Dele is still around and we've seen that there are games when you might want even sissoko in there

I'm not sure you can say a player should be a nailed on starter because he will go on to prove he deserves that status. I can very easily imagine stretches of the season when Bergwijn is a better option than bale.

It's not difficult to imagine a world where any of those midfields are required on a particular day, hence why I don't think you can call either ndombele and lo celso nailed on first xi members
