Slowly but surely...

I have been an Ole supporter from the beginning, just because I have seen what he can do against the bigger clubs, it was always the question if he could produce the same tactical nous against the smaller clubs.

Ole has also shown a bit of ruthlessness with some of the players, shipping out the deadwood(still a couple left to go). One thing he is is an excellent man manager, the tactical side will come, and continue to develop.

Now we have a decent amount of squad depth, players that can break down a defence and play against the low block. Ole has brought in his own players, we can finally see what he wants to achieve. We actually play good football at times, this is the most excited I have been by a United team since SAF.

The lack of pre season really killed us the first few games, there was a massive overreaction. We are finally finding some form, but we need to be consistent now, we have a good run of games where our squad depth will really be tested.

We have a very young team still, with a couple of experienced heads. This team will continue to grow. Ole will continue to improve as a manager. From January to Aug/Sept we only lost one game in the league, it wasn't a fluke, Ole knows what he is doing.

This isn't an article written on a high after last night, you will see my post history.

Example from back in December 2019. The rebuild is slowly getting there.

Back to the OP.

Yep the rebuild looks like an actual rebuild and if we can continue getting results anywhere like we did from January then we’ll be closer to the top and progress will have been made.

A lot of people say that they don’t see Ole winning trophies but I think given his record against top opposition generally being quite good; then I don’t see why he cannot win a trophy. I think people are just saying this based on personality and his baby face.
They need to remember: he was the baby faced assassin!!
Consistency of results has improved in 2020, if that continues then I’m happy.

Yeah that got me too. And Ed not paying £15. And Klopp at the end “sorry for the language...what language? Fook off” the teeth and face he pulls. It’s so good lol

I'm really quite happy with Ole as a manager. I like the general culture we've created, the direction of a majority of our signings and it seems clear to me that the players believe in the model. When he's under pressure we seem to respond very well. That's huge because one of the biggest parts of being a manager, not just a football manager, is man/team management.

Ferguson was very good at it, Klopp appears to be. Mourinho, given the right type of personality, seems to be someone that players will run through brick walls for but it seems from the outside like he is a little less broad with who he gets on with.

It's a huge struggle for a manager when the players aren't responding and that's a big indicator that you may need to change who is managing. If you have one or two players that are a problem, you can move them on but if a majority of the squad don't buy into the manager then it's a real problem. We don't see to have that issue.

I don't feel he was backed correctly this summer and given our squad, I thin we're performing about where we should be. I don't see our squad as title winner. Therefore if we had a strong challenge for the title I would mark that down as an over achievement. So not winning the title isn't an under achievement.

It's easy to forget how good we have it. People talk like we're a club absolutely on our knees and it's so melodramatic. It could be better but we're more fortunate than probably 98% of fans, who follow teams across various divisions that have no hope of ever getting out of their league, let alone even contemplating a trophy win or semi finals or trips to Wembley etc.

It really isn't that bad....
