Nice

What a load of Bollox this thread is.
Sure Kane is a wold class striker....so is Lewandowski....but footy is a team game. A striker cannot be any better than the team he's in. Period.
Lewandowski plays for Bayern... a team 2 classes better then Tottenham ATM.
Given what Kane has to play with..... I'd give him the nod....maybe.

Kane is an excellent player as is Son, unfortunately for Spurs two great strikers dose not guarantee the title.

I'm not as old as Sandy LOL, but I can remember West Ham in 1985-86. McAvennie was 2nd highest scorer and Cottee 6th. We finished 3rd.

I think Spurs are capable of 3rd this season, but just like West Ham the rest of the teams quality (or maybe mentality) will prevent them going all the way.

On a side note West Ham were not in Europe the following season, along with all English clubs due to the actions of certain red wearing fans in Brussels.

People keep using the word ‘form’ to describe Kane. “Yeah his current form is good....” etc. Sorry but this isn’t a form thing, this is a world class player who has scored goals at a consistently high rate throughout his career.

Since becoming a first team starter under Poch in autumn 2014 he has scored 146 PL goals in 214 PL games, and assisted a further 26 more. That’s 172 goals scored or assisted in 214 PL games.

In 2018 he scored 41 goals in 48 games in all comps.

In total he’s scored 198 goals for spurs in 296 games, a strike rate of 0.67. He’s also scored 32 England goals in 49 games, and has two PL golden boots and a WC golden boot.

His last two seasons have been hampered by injury, but even then he maintained his consistent 2/3 strike rate scoring 17 PL goals in 28 games (2019) and 24 PL & CL goals in 34 games (2020).

It’s not form, he’s been scoring at a very high and very consistent rate since breaking through in late 2014. Missing games through injury in the last two seasons makes those seasons totals lower, but the actual strike rate has remained the same throughout, just as it has done at international level.
