Lies, damned lies, and statistics.

He is a midfielder I do expect him to do the miles and his engine is one of his better attributes. In the early Poch days we pressed team and not many teams employed those tactics but most team press these days and due to his poor ball skills and inability to make quick decisions he gets found out and has minimal effect. Someone mentioned his good game against West ham last season. The game where they gave him the freedom of the park to play! I could have thread a few through balls to Kane myself

Game has moved on and so should he. He just does not suit the modern , energetic, high pressing game now deployed in the EPL. If he was any good he would be in Southgate and Mourinhos plans.

Lamela over Dele? Nah. Lamela lacks quality aside from being able to put in a shift. Has good games but never brilliant games and isn't someone you look to for scoring or creating goals. In fairness he's probably just about warranted being ahead of Dele most of this year, but Dele is looking sharper recently so I'd put him in ahead. And Lamela had a stinker yesterday.

Dele should be playing instead of Sissoko and Winks, he could do their role in the team to a higher level, he has a range of passing that those two don`t possess and would be better both offensively and defensively, he is an all round better footballer than both.

Dele was instrumental in poch pressing system. It’s one of his best qualities ffs

Dele Ali’s loss of form & effort was one of the key factors in Poch getting sacked... not just him but Eriksen too..

Both players were making loose passes, giving the ball away... plus goals & assists were down also..

The other thing very noticeable was the fact that neither player can tackle of put their foot in...

Both are on the subs bench now... this is not a coincidence..

Potentially Dele Ali can score & assist more than Lamela... but Lamela’s work rate & getting stuck in, is far superior...

No way in a million years, does Dele Ali deserve to be in the team ahead of Lucas Moura... no way... Moura has pace, assists & incredible work rate...

Dele has to knuckle down & work extremely hard to get his first 2 seasons form back... otherwise it’s a Europa League squad place for him... Mourinho has it spot on with him...

Yes... we know that.... very true...

But,Eriksen’s last 6 months at the club was horrendous... that match against Olympiakos, springs to mind... 2-0 up then 2-2... Eriksen was terrible... all his confidence & form was completely shot to pieces by then... giving the ball away constantly...

Well you didn’t know that

I don’t agree at all Conn & Duncan and I think running/pressing metrics support they still ran a lot and tried hard.

The whole team just suffered from us have a terrible midfield meaning that Dele/Eriksen had to sacrifice a lot to ensure the team ticked over
