run now stretches to nine games, in three different competitions. Another three goals last night, that brings the total to 31 goals this season in just nine matches, averaging over three goals a game, 19 goals in the last four games, which kind of debunks the myth that Jose Mourinho plays boring football. Cannot say Spurs have just played goat herders either, they have played the League Leaders Everton, Man United, Chelsea, and an always competitive derby against West Ham.
Not surprising really that Spurs are scoring so many goals with the best attack in the country. They have so many players capable of scoring it is about as good as it gets right now. I was hugely, hugely impressed with Vinicius last night, he missed a sitter, but just got on with it, and looks a top, top player. His touch was brilliant, looks like he can hold up the ball and bring other players into it. Looks a really good buy already, and will surely be playing lots this season.
First clean sheet of the season last night. Hooray.
All in all a very satisfying night, Harry had a rest, Bale got in a decent 60 minutes, once he is up to speed, will be another excellent asset. Reguilion looks another bargain right now.
On to Burnley now next Monday, and hopefully Spurs will continue their 100 per cent away record for this season in all competitions.
COYS
PS No dust settling this morning.
Decent win last night, and the unbeaten

Despite what you said above, I think the fixtures have been extremely kind to us so far and we should have done far better in the league.
The games against City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Leicester in the the space of 3 weeks in Nov/Dec will define our season.
If, as you say, we have the best squad in the league, we should come through these fixtures with plenty of points. Only then would I start to be convinced by Mourinho.

You're wrong, I am capable of warming to Mourinho if I am convinced we are heading in the right direction.
There's no denying that we have put a lot of wins on the board since the restart. But look at the opposition! With the squad we have, those wins are the bare minimum of what we should be expecting.
What I stated above is that I cannot be convinced until we start performing against the teams in the top 6. Whenever we have come up against anyone of quality, we have fallen short. In some cases, embarrassingly so. As I said, I will wait and see how we fare against, City, Liverpool and Chelsea before warming to him.

It's the Emirates effect Don. Still struggling to make it a fortress. Far too many losses there for my liking. Plus the lack of fans won't be helping.
To think we left old WHL when we were unbeaten there the whole season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure about the no fans bit. Like everyone else I want stadiums back full, but it does seem that some teams have adapted better to an empty stadium than others. There is no real "home advantage" these days, Spurs for example, certainly this year seem much better away, which bears this out.

Can see Davies playing back up at LCB more often now after last night.
Ruguilon looks as class above at lb.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Have seen Davies in this CB role before, and each time he has played well. Given the other CB options we have, couple with having a very good alternative left back, perhaps Jose should consider this role for Davies more often. Particularly when we play teams with quick strikers.

That's a solid set of results, with minimal real upsets. Personally I like Jose. He comes across poorly on occasion, but does know how to get a result.
Perhaps our instant reaction is to be negative about our team, given the flack they get from all and sundry in the football world. The fact is none of the so called "big 6 " have had a smooth start to this season. Some are a lot lower in their expectations than Spurs are at present.
Personally I just have a feeling that we will achieve something good this year. We certainly have a strong squad now. Possibly a top CB in the January window, and I am sure we will be in the thick of it come May.

The Sheffield United result was the nadir for you guys and I imagine the boards on here were meltdown city but since then it’s been mainly excellent. Managers don’t imo regress like players and Jose has found something at Spurs he didn’t with us. Probably the perfect club for him to manage at thus point of his career. Two entities with points to prove and just enough talent be it players and/or managerial skill to make it happen.

No, not really. I am just twisting the facts to support my agenda
Truth is, the football we played last season was, at times, abysmal and had the lockdown not happened, I think he may have even got the boot. The players looked like they had no idea what was being asked of them. I hated watching Spurs play.
Since the restart, we have improved, but we still struggle to play two good halves of football.
So while I still don't think Jose is the right man for the job, I will admit that my antipathy towards him has calmed a little.

Well seeing as since Jose has been at Spurs, they have beaten City, Arsenal last season and Chelsea and Man United this season. So other than Liverpool have beaten all of the so called biggies this calendar year.
So explain yourself please when you say Spurs have not performed against the top six or any decent side. Not sure you thought that post out to well. Under Jose Spurs have not been embarrassed by any of the big teams as you state in your post.
