We can blame him for that. There were far better players out there for half of his price. Not gonna pretend that I knew if he was good before we signed him but it was obvious on his debut vs Liverpool that he was not very good. How can our highly paid scouts and recruiters suggest we spend £72M on a player the average fan can tell is garbage after just one game?

Getting rid of him is not going to be easy.

So you judge a player after one game? At the time he was riding high in the French league and don’t kid yourself, fans were excited by the signing. Practically begging Raul to finalise it and then treated him as a god when he got it done. Hasn’t worked out yet, it happens.

I’ve had plenty of time to judge him actually and no I was never excited by the signing because I knew nothing about him. I could tell after the 1st game that he was lacking in a lot of areas. Tbh I never thought he’d be as bad as he is now though. £72m for the left footed Gervinho.

I said fans were excited by it, practically embarrassing themselves and running up to Rauls car and kissing his feet. My point is you can’t blame him for spending big on him, I actually agree that he’s been poor but fans wanted him. I still think it’s early days and he’s lacking confidence big time.
