Cambridge United v Bolton Wanderers

After the last 2 Saturday's playing the bottom side in the league this time its top of the league Cambridge United who have made a flying start to the season with 5 wins from 7 fired by the goals of Paul Mullen who has scored 11 from 10, a player ian evatt had a chance to sign in the summer . Bolton with just the 1 win from 7 at least take a better away than home record to the abbey stadium. Goalscoring does not seem to be an issue with Doyle, the fonz and sarcevic looking sharper with kioso, Crawford and Darcy providing creative options. Its just keeping them out the issue. Not a regular fixture down the years but some memories of tough fixtures against john becks barbaric side in the early 90s with Dion Dublin up front and a 3-1 win in the fa cup on the way to the old Wembley semi final trip that year which laid some ghosts. Here we are 20 years later hoping for a repeat. Team news. Some good news. Miller and isgrove getting closer to full fitness and white could be available today. Still out long term politic, Jones, faal, Edwards. The fonz should also be available after missing midweek.

Wrong of evatt to publically slam crellin, should be kept in house. A bit like Keith hill though he can't help himself.

Enjoy the extra hour sleeping soundly
Tomorrow I have to change from the Rolls I bought in summer time to the Bentley which was bought in winter time it's easier than working out how to change the clock on the cars.

Why have I never thought of that, much easier, 🤣🤣

Re the Goalkeeping - Crellin's OG was a technique issue. Once your arms are above a certain angle you don't punch - catch or palm away.

With Jaaskelainen he was simply overwhelmed with the number of games he wasn't used to - strangley enough Colin Todd's solution was to buy Steve Banks and take Jaaskelainen out of the firing line for a bit.

I was in senior management for many years before I had my own business and any manager worth his salt would never criticise a member of staff in front of other staff let alone state it publicly to the press. Terrible tactics. It just shows his inexperience.

Perhaps he should go on a management course and I don't mean a football management course, although that might have a positive effect.

Imagine the public slating Crellin would have had if fans were allowed in he'd be a nervous wreck if he isn't one already

There is that, but if that happens isn't it a good manager's job to defend his players from adverse behaviour from the fans and to try to get the best from them? You can point out what a player needs to do to improve without destroying his confidence. The training ground is the place for that. The last part of your sentence sums it up very well.

With the clocks messing us about does the build to tomorrow start this evening when it's dark
Perhaps we'll get a bit about Gilks and what a splendid job he's doing training the goalkeepers

Tonight's the night for another session in front of the screens there's a lot of expectation of a win knocking around. Don't forget it's 7pm and minus our star striker Doyle.
Time for the Wanderers to turn the clock back with a decent performance and collect the 3 points. Now there's a headline for Weds in the making if they pull their finger out how about a white hot performance and a goal feast.

Ian Evatt is confident he will get the right reaction from Billy Crellin against Bradford City tonight. It's to be hoped that he's right. We can't have a keeper that's nieve and incompetent when under a little pressure. He needs to learn the basics of goalkeeping.

Tonight really does need to be the night that we take all three points. If we are going to do anything in this league, we do need to kick on and start winning games.
